starting a new game

in Subnautica General Discussion
is that necessary to start a new game everytime we receive a new update ? because it take a lot of time to gather all resource and bam.. losing everything when start a new game. ( of course we could cheating)

    no but your base can be inside a cliffwall because of terrain changes

    I noticed that if I try to load an existing game that was saved before the new update, then you get a warning stating that you can load it up but you may not see the new terrain from the update.

    As the game is still in super early development I never invest myself into my saves. I play them for several hours, but I don't get attached (I learned this the hard way when I spend DAYS terraforming and base building the perfect base). I just start a new game every time. Most of the stuff is in the same place (unless something moved) so I can usually find where my previous base locations are.
