Slight Change to Scenery on New Game

Hi
Today I decided to start a new game of SN. I kept the same settings (Freedom mode -non experimental) and in the same version [23050]
I know that the scenery doesn't randomly generate so I was quite surprised to see that when I started this new game the scenery had changed slightly; my escape pod is just on the edge of the kelp forest. Normally, in all other games I have to swim a little ways to find the kelp forest. There is a stalker right below my escape pod.
I wonder what happened.
