Rare creatures and databases.

something came to my mind when looking through the discussions, rare creature variants, basically what I mean by that is albino fish, say you're swimming along and you happen to notice an albino Peeper you can catch it and put it in an aquarium as its such a rare creature and it would show as albino in the tank, I'm unsure whether this should extend beyond fish you can catch, like an albino Reaper Leviathan.

the second idea is something i think I mentioned a while ago and that is a database, you could fill up this database with creatures and plant-life, some information could be gained by observation (length, predatory, intelligence etc) and some could be gained through taking DNA (fauna, DNA serum) so a completed Sea Emperor log would look somewhat like this,

SPECIES: Sea Emperor PICTURE HERE
LENGTH (M): However long it is.
PREDATORY: yes (is it? i don't know, Probably)
CATEGORY: Fauna
INTELLIGENCE: very high
DNA SERUM: (i have no info on this, SO JUST PRETEND IT SAYS SOMETHING!)

Id rather like just different variations of every species out there, for example the "Dragon Engine" mod for skyrim does this very well, instead of some rare version.

No like different texture variations so most Peepers look different from one another.

Here you can see what i meant when i was talking about the Dragon Engine skyrim mod, like that but instead of dragons, with fish.

I don't know if peepers are the right fish to start here ... maybe creatures that are likely to grow older than a few days xD like reefbacks or stalkers.

But it's impressive what different textures can do to a model.

Of course, it was merely an example :)

I mistook what you were saying, I thought you meant subspecies, the Oculus definitely looks like a subspecies of Peeper.

thanks for giving me a Brodual video though.

This reminds me a lot like the stuff in Monster Hunter, and anything that reminds me of that is good.

But no really subspecies or rare species is a novel but cool idea and help create more diversity without having model entirely new creatures.

Hell yeah I wanna hunt for shiny pokemon fish.

Make em super rare, so if you catch one and put it in a tank, you get an achievement or something.
