Small idea (Base lighting)

Hey, I'll keep this short because SO many people hand suggestions in every day. But hey, too many of them are like "I probably won't buy the game unless you add real-time ecosystem changes" so maybe this is easier/better.
My idea is being able to change/choose base lighting. I don't even mean colours, I mean intensity more than anything.
It just seems like such wasted potential when I'm going through glass corridors under deep green water (kelp forest ambience looks soooo good) and reach the residential part of my base... But the whole time my eyes are burning because of the bright white of all base components. The rooms are acceptable, but I just feel like a slight change to the lighting would mean the difference between 'hospital lights' and 'Bioshock glow'.
I guess for you realists, changing base total/section brightness could also be a balance between power usage and visibility, though I really don't care for that sort of mechanic.
Hopefully all of that makes sense.
Anyway, I don't respect the game any less for not having light control, I know it's not a home builder, but it seems like a relatively simple tweak that means great atmosphere and a whole new area of customisation.
The game's still awesome though, and I don't know if the lights are embedded in the objects with the same permanent intensity.
Thanks for your time!
