Please make NS2:Combat standalone DLC with same launcher of NS2.

I know it has been discussed a lot and also that it would need kind of unexpected many works to do it but please make NS2:Combat a standalone DLC with the same launcher of NS2, so that everyone can just use same Server Browser to join in and join back between NS2 and Combat easily. Just like Company of Heroes or Battlefield 4.

The biggest problem of Combat was that it had big potential to split playerbase, which is already kind of small, and the fact is, how it is now, being a different game, has made that problem even worse.

So please, why don't you make both games have same launcher so that we can play both without unnecessary acts inbetween?

    The same launcher will not solve a server availability problem, you need to have a separate server for CO, either Standalone or just a mod.

    As you will see in that thread, combat is done by FLG games not UWE which makes what you ask complicated.
    From my perspective UWE has been trying to both with what little resources they have given to the game. They don't have an AAA budget, let alone an indie game budget. They have the budget of a game that has been out 6 years. I want to say, don't half ass two things, whole ass one thing. I just don't think they have the resources to do it. Unlike many of the people on the forums, I guess I am just happy they are at least trying even though I may not like what they end up doing.

    I know that and why should it be complicated? Publisher is UWE and they can actually decide what is good for both games. And seriously, it's like 0 server filled all day. I can't think more about combining it as the only solution.

    Furthurmore, NS2 is anyway developed by community atm as UWE works on Subnautica.

    Probably the biggest problem is then 32bit/64bit issue, though.

    This is something that should have been planned from the beginning. It would take some work to try to merge the two.

    The CDT doesn't work on Combat and we have a lot of other stuff we're working on. At this point, I don't know that it's a viable thing. Maybe eventually? Hopefully?

    The issue with that right now is that Combat and NS2 are using a different version of Spark. So this would happen if it is a simple addition to the browser of each game, to include the other game NS2 <-> Combat:

    Start up NS2
    Open up the server browser
    join a Combat server from that list
    it closes NS2
    It relaunches Combat and joins the server

    And the reverse will happen if you join a NS2 server from Combat, which will get tedious real fast. As of right now there isn't a quick way to switch between the official NS2:Combat and NS2 from either game... So in essence they somehow have to be merged together, something as @Decoy hinted at should've been planned from the start and also requires UWE/CDT and FLG cooperating to achieve this. All parties involved are too swamped with other things, so don't expect to see this happen any time soon :/
