is anyone else getting this crash error? game just keeps crashing, all my drivers are up to date.

    You could try re-verifying the game cache, and if not that, try a reinstall.

    When exactly does it crash? Start, loading, doing x, or playing for z minutes?
    If you upload the Subnautica\Subnautica_Data\output.log on pastebin we might be able to find out more about the error.

    i don't know if he and me have the same problem, but for me it crashes after i click on the 'Normal' button. it goes to the loading screen and stops responding. any help or ideas would be appreciated. im running on a 64 bit processing system and my processor runs with 2.50Ghz and 4 Gigs of ram and my max resolution is 1366 x 768, i honestly have no idea where this leaves me on the spectrum of have good this is or isnt but i was told to put these specs up here so that it would make it easier to ID my problem. any and all help would be appreciated even if it is just you telling me my computer cant handle it.

    scratch that i talked to a guy with the same problem and he has a 6100 graphics card and stil has the same issue. LumpN PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!! ^:)^

    I know I'm not a dev or anything, but just based off what you said, it sounds like your game might not have installed correctly.
    1-Update your Graphics Card drivers through AMD's site if you haven't already.
    2-Verify your game cache files. (do this by right clicking Subnautica on steam, properties, local files.)
    3-Pause any antivirus or firewalling software. I know Kaspersky has a tendency to screw things up if left running, assuming you use that.
    4-Run as system Admin.
    5-If none of this works, wait for a fix. Buying games still being developed is like playing minesweeper. Sometimes things work out, sometimes they don't. If you buy a game in pre-alpha you run the risk of experiencing bugs. Unfortunately, sometimes those bugs are as big as not allowing the game to run...

    i got it to work, i just had to reinstall it about 5 more times. works ok though. i also might do that drivers thing just to see if it improves my performance thanks for the help lye. :)>-

    Yeah make sure to use the "look for driver upgrades" feature of Steam. Also make sure to verify the game's cache integrity. Please note that the game does become unresponsive for a short while when loading starts. My machine is pretty much the minimum system we list on the Steam page. For me it takes about 10 - 20 seconds until the intro voice starts talking after pressing "normal".

    still crashes on recommended. ive got a gtx 760, 4 g of ram, windows 7 pro, 1 tb west gate hd. drivers are up to date and have successfully verified cache integrity. it crashes randomly sometimes 2 minutes and sometimes 5. i can play on low for alot longer but it still crashes with same kernel dump error

    yeah mine basically works like lumpN, takes a few seconds but after a few seconds of waiting it starts up fine (albeit a tad on the really low fps side due to my crap computer) and it hasent crashed during my play throughs.

    Deathtosqueak i would just try reinstalling it a couple of times, for some reason it works (i think you can sometimes get a glitchy version of the game when installed) just uninstall it and reinstall it and hope for the best. i know probably the worst advice to give but it worked for me so that's the advice im gonna give.
