<div class="IPBDescription">Says upgrade needed</div> I have just decided to try NS today so I downloaded it from the NS site.

I tried to install it but it says it needs at least v1.1.1.0 or CS Retail v1.3.

I have HL patched to v1.1.1.0 already and I can play CS/TFC/DoD etc etc all fine but it just won't let me install NS <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

I looked in the sierra.ini file and changed the version to 1.1.1.0 but that didn't help.

Anyone else have similar trouble and was able to fix it ?

Update: I downloaded it again but I just get the same thing <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
I hope I can play NS soon.

    This same problem happened to me, and I found out what was going wrong.

    I have Counter-Strike retail. It is installed in C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike
    However, when you run the NS installer, the default directory is C:\Sierra\Half-Life
    I guess I just didn't notice because I saw C:\Sierra, so i figured it was right.

    Just browse to the proper directory and you'll be playing in no time <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Hmm I tried what you suggested but no results i'm afraid <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    You see I have 2 hard drives and all of my games are installed to the D: drive. When I run the installer it finds the default HL directory as D:\Games\Sierra\Half-Life\ which is correct but it just won't install.

    I'll try the dummy exe and see how I get on with that.

    YAY

    I downloaded the dummy hl file and put it in the HL folder. I was then able to install NS and was a ble to play the game from there <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Forgot to mention that I had to point the NS loader to the HL .exe
