NS2 is crashing during MOD Downlaod on map loading

  I have no subscribed workshops, mods deacticated and deleted but it does not work .
  On this stage the game is crashed (see image)

  Just delete the %appdata%\Natural Selection 2\ folder Then disable all mods in the menu under mods

  You have to actually unsubscribe through steam in the workshop area.

  Are mods now downloaded ( copied into workshop folder ) before the menu has loaded up o.O If so you have really unsubscribe them at the workshop and delete the %Appdata%\Natural Selection 2\ folder afterwards.

  I have the exact same problem, can't connect to any server and I just get a black screen when it goes to download mods. I have unsubscribed from everything, deleted cache, and re installed the game.

  Yeah , but I dont' know why there is no subsribtion .
  
  Maybe the reason is that there are mods on the gaming servers? ( but other people are playing on them without problems)
  
  I reinstalled my game again and deleted all, but without effect -.- .

  Do you know how to disable steam cloud for ns2? If so, do it.
  
  Are you triple sure you deleted the workshop folder??

  Yes i checked all things.
  
  But now I have a workaround.
  
  I installed revo uninstaller, and uninstalled NS2 and Steam in strongest uninstall mode and deleted really all (all directories, all registry entries and so on) .
  After that I started ccleaner to clean up registry, and then I reinstalled steam with NS2.
  And now it works

  My game works now, I re downloaded twice and validated 3 times but the last validation worked.
