UI Scaling

I know, this is really only my fault for playing on a laptop. But the UI scaling for lower resolutions makes it next to impossible to play commander. If you want to see why I can't command, try commanding on 640x400 resolution for a while. UWE, possibly make some sort of fix for this? It would be greatly appreciated.

    I agree with this, but I suggest something a little diferent, add a render scaling option that underscales or overscales the render resolution, keeping HUD elements at screen resolution.

    640x400? REALLY? You should be able to get a decent enough fps for commanding on 800x600 at least.
    I agree with you through and through but I don't understand how you can play this game at all on such a low res

    Well, seeing as I've already made a ton of optimizations for lower resolutions, and it's still bad for THAT low of resolution, that is as good as it is going to get.

    @SamusDroid Why not render scaling then ? Using high resolutions for HUD elements and decrease resolution of 3D render... a simple percentage would be great, like render at 50% the resolution... or even 200% which makes some nice antialiasing.

    It already does scale a lot of things...some things just can not be scaled.

    Not sure if you understand what I meant... ever played a Unreal Tournament 3 or Serious Sam 2 or 3 ? They have a render scale option that allows the 3D part of the scene to be rendered lower or higher than your screen resolution, that can help both people with low fps and people with higher end PCs which want supersampling, all this while keeping the HUD at screen resolution, therefore no more font or scaling issues with HUD.

    Yes, but NS2 does not have this option. Which is what he was trying to say.
    Sadly.

    Well, this is the suggestion section, so I'm suggesting that render scaling is added :}

    This would help a ton with performance for a lot of computers!
    400x300 and below is downright unplayable
