  I see your point but honestly the marines losing that round was just a very powerful combination of bad luck and the absolute tiniest dip in foresight. Keep in mind that this was after 2 hours and 3 pretty intense rounds.
  
  Several things might have made that rush go the other way:

  • Researched nano shield (uncertain, it's not so powerful now)
  • Only scanned our rush once instead of twice to keep res for a beacon on top of the meds for the 2 rines that delayed our entry
  • If marines had phased back faster
  • A backup arms lab
  • A backup CC
  • Ignore the oni and focus the other lifeforms. Kill the fades/lerk while you have upgrades and let the power go down. In a room as open as that, jetpack marines without upgrades could've taken those oni, or at least chased them off
