<div class="IPBDescription">Ambient sounds from Doom 3</div> Ok so I have the Doom 3 leaked alpha and included in it are a bunch of high quality sounds created by trent reznor himself. I used a few of the sounds(the pinky demon's bite sound, new shotgun sounds, new fall grunt for aliens, new attacks for fade) but I didn't find a use for most of the absolutely incredible atmospherics. I was wondering if you guys want me to make up a pack with the pick of the lot and put it out here for download?

Yeah, really. I just got a nasty surprise finding out someone had yoinked some textures of mine out of a preview screenie and thrown them all over a WAD they claimed was their own.

Imagine how the artists who made the Doom 3 sounds would feel finding out their hard work was yoinked by you and thrown into another game?

I don't give a rat's gonads about copyright infringement (mostly just American capitalist whining, but that's my opinion <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'> ) but idle 'yoinking' by silly people who don't know what they're really doing is just wrong.

I'm not claiming em as my own and I didn't just put the pack up without testing the waters to see if people actually wanted em. I don't feel bad about having the alpha as I plan on buying Doom 3 the instant it comes out (Even moreso now as I I know it to be FSCKING INCREDIBLE). I view it in much the same way as the AvP2 conversions and sound replacement. Anyway the response seems pretty negative so I doubt I'll put the pack the pack together. Ohh well its too bad cause there is some great stuff. Back to my top secret project then.(MWAAAHAAAHAAA *cough* *cough* *hack* errr.... nevermind)

There's nothing wrong with using other's work if you have permission to use it (and give them the credit they deserve.)

If you DO have permission from Id Software (they own Doom 3, right?) to use the sound effects in Natural Selection, put the pack together then. It sounds awesome.

If you DON'T have permission... well, I don't think you should use them, then... <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'>
