Game crashes when entering text

I've been seeing lately on a lot of servers that have a text box pop-up, like in an MMO. I have my own complaints about those like the text being way too small to see. I'm not sure though if it's a new NS2 thing or just popular among servers since I've seen a few servers without it.
But anyway, I've been having crashes whenever I'm in one of those servers and when I enter text. It crashes randomly though so I could be in a game for over an hour typing like crazy until the last text freezes NS2 or it could be the very first text I send.
Is there a way to disable the new text box? If I could, I'm sure the crashes would go away.

It's part of Shine but never heard that it crashes whole clients.
