I haven't played NS2 in almost a year. I thought I would poke around to see how things are going. I had some fun, but thought I'd throw in a few thoughts.

1. Can't access menu while in game - ESC key disabled?
I have to wait till I die in order to make changes to things like keybinding and turning off the help videos... argh. As a player, I feel constrained and I want to just run away.

2. No numeric value shown for FOV adjustment in Settings menu
Unless I'm willing to break in to a cfg file or something, I have no idea WHAT my fov is.

3. No independent YAW and PITCH adjustments.
This is needed; especially for this kind of game. Quake series games had this including TF2. We would be allowed to very precisely set our mouse settings to our needs. I only feel this pain more so on my 16:10 display- mouse acceleration is not a viable solution when compared to tuning yaw and pitch sensitivities.

4. Good job on the new alien vision
It feels like the NS1 days when you only really used it in crowded pitch dark areas.

5. Good job on performance(over-all), but.. warping
Even during the end of games now, the loss of performance is minimized; however, there are issues of warping in to walls. Reminds me of the days playing Quake on a 33.6 modem. I only play on servers that are close to me.. nothing too strange.

6. Minimap "self" indicator seems to get lost
It was an improvement to have it be animated and float to your location, but it shouldn't stop there. Maybe have it blink or "breathe" for a few seconds after the map is open... I avoid staring at the map for too long or else it distracts you! Imagine a new player glued to his or her map... we use peripheral vision to note OUR location while we peruse the map for more important elements.

Anyway. A guy can only wish...
