Bought this game despite the abysmal performance...

I bought this game because I think it has a great potential, I played a lot of a certain other game which was very enjoyable similar to this.

I bought this game also in the hope that the performance issues can be sorted out, I am running Linux.

AMD PhenomII 1090t
8GB RAM
nvidia GTX 275

Can play stuff like L4D2 all maxed out no problem and this game isn't really that pretty, so I live in hope.

I did take a screenshot, if that might mean anything, It doesn't seem to use the GPU at all?

At the moment 20 - 30FPS with nothing going on and input lag doesn't make for a nice experience, and it looks pretty crap because basically everything is turned off. Yes i've been reading the many threads on this issue.

Best of luck with your endeavours, this game could be truly great if optimised.

Turn off raw input, turn on mouse acceleration, then turn it back off... weird fix for the mouse lag. Also, disable visual themes and disable desktop composition. I've heard that helps performance with this game.

So, this game is very cpu intensive particularly in vs bots mode.

If you get 0 ms waiting for gpu the game is cpu bound which is somewhat expected on a 1090t.

I know that the game gets worse frame rates than other linux steam games, but it as a bit more going on than most of the others and linux support is in its infancy.

CPU bound on a 6 core 3.2ghz.. I see... sure.

It does sound like I'm moaning, that's not really my intention. Point is this game needs extreme optimisation to make it acceptable, which I hope by purchasing the game, as many have done over the last weekend help make it reality.

Op did clearly state he is running Linux, reading the post before responding is always a good start.

@ODDity with the reinforced patch the game went from being DX9 only to DX11 and OpenGL (for Linux), which has somewhat crippled performance. As far as I'm aware one of the big things currently being worked on are the performance issues introduced in the patch and hopefully with maybe a new build coming later today to introduce some of the reinforced programs new skins may come bundled with some fixes and performance enhances.

In another manner of speaking your spec is not the problem you should be able to run the game without too many issues. The game in previous builds has had far far better performance than what is currently going around at the moment (OpenGL being the worst probably). I know waiting with your fingers crossed isnt the most ideal solution but we should be seeing something to address these issuess as soon as possible.

On a side note if anyone is more clued up about the state of performance (Whether it be a dev or playtester), this is a really big problem at the moment and it would be nice if we could have an update on how far out potential fixes are? I appreciate time spent informing us is time away from fixing the problem but even a brief update of when we can hopefully expect some changes would be great.

@Zinkey We experience vary hardware specific bugs doing playtests, (for instance, some AMD drivers not loading the fade shaders probaly) during playtests using DX11 and wierd spikes in performance in OpenGL but being fine in DX9 - while another playtester whit the same driver but differnt card sees improvements.
We catch most before they go live but sometimes the fix works for us, but 2% of the effected players still have the issue after it goes live, and has to re-fixed (hence why UWE asks for the logs).
Typicaly the devs start work on the high priority and gamebreaking stuff imidiatly, but if the playtesters rejects the fix it usualy takes from 30mins to 2-3days, depending on the problem (sometimes more), to get a new build going whit the fix.

You can disable desktop composition also on Linux.

I'd like to add that Linux support was only just put in, it's very rough around the edges to say the least.
