middle mouse zooms out when held

i don't know why this happens but its highly annoying, i cannot get the detail i want in my map because every time i hold my middle mouse button, it wants to zoom out! i can drag while this is happening but none the less, it still wants to zoom out. i use 3DS max9 and i don't have this problem so i know its not my mouse. dose anyone have this problem as well ? dose anyone know why this happens or how to fix it?

    ok i figured this problem out, its due to the horizontal scroll feature which cannot be turned off... so if a dev team member reads this PLEASE to the dev heavens and gods please take horizontal scrolling feature out of the spark program!
