Whenever i join any server i keep getting ping spikes. Suddenly my screen freezes for 5 seconds or sometimes even up into 20 seconds. After the freeze stops i look at my ping and most of the time its 999 or something above 300. The problem is that it happens like almost every 20 seconds or so. Its impossible to make any progress in the game.

This have been happening since the release of the game and i dont know the cause. My internet is stable and i can play every other game fine.

Specs:
Intel Core i7-2600k 3.40GHz
Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 (Driver 314.07)
Windows 7 (64 bit)
4GB ram

I tried reinstalling the game and didn't help.

network configuration and setup would be useful to know.. like wireless, modem and router models , etc?

Also, have you tried running with net_Stats 1 typed in the console (~key) ?
It will display things like server tickrate. It should be near 30. at 15 ticks you will experience lagging, at less than 5 you will experience extreme teleportation.
This is the poor server's performance, not your own. Be sure this isn't whats happening to you :)

Late replay (one year old late...) but it was my CPU apparently. It couldn't handle the game at high settings.
