I honestly believe this can work
Hi, this post is generally geared towards server-admins, but all "dedicated" NS fans should hear me out as well.
Recently I have talked to many people, heard their ideas about the game and how they think the development is going. I have found that it's quite commonly agreed that NS games are mostly ruined by ignorant, stubborn, or otherwise immature players. Many suggest that we "dedicated" players should simply join a clan and play in clan-matches to avoid these complications. But I am SURE there are many, many dedicated NS players out there that are like me, although dedicated, we do not wish to play under such a highly pressured, tightly-scheduled clan situation. So, I thought of a quite simple, and theoretically possible solution:
Imagine this scenerio: A passworded server, but NOT reserved for clan members but runs under a "registration" system. Say for example, players can log onto their website and register an account on their forums, the admin can easily limit the # of forum registrations to 40, or 50 people, and the password for the server would be posted on the forum (change it daily, weekly, etc). Under this system, the regulars can HELP the admin to kick out those that are "immature", "ignorant", or if the player only plays 1 or 2 hours in a weekly basis, the admin can simply remove their account on the forums and restrict their WonID from the server. Thus providing new open spaces for new registrations. Even if the password is stolen, those are "sneak" into the server would be EASILY caught since all they have to do is match his wonID and see if it's on the registered-users' database.
Under this scenerio, you would have a nice, friendly, non-newbie server where the people will get to know each other rather quickly, and have fun, coordinated and cooperative games. WITHOUT the constant pressure and schedules of a clan.
So what do you think? If there are any loopholes or mistakes that I have not thought of...please reply. I really wish that many server admins would at least CONSIDER this proposal, because as I am sure, many, many of us are getting rather tired of the constant frustration that comes from most pub games.
[edit] I know this should belong in the "ideas" forum...and I'm sorry for putting it here, but honestly, how many server-admins go read in the "ideas" forum?

It was started up before release. Just get a server, put a PW on the website, and let anyone who has been lurking around the forums join the guild.
I know very few idiots from around the forums, this could be a good system.
And as I said, the "singling out" part would not be hard at all, if someone is suspected to be a lamer, a simple democratic vote of that small community on their forums will determine whether he stays or not, that way more than 50% of the community will stay happy at all times.
Do you have a website address to go with that? I'm looking for some more good publics to play pickup games on. I really only have one now, and I'm sad when its full .

Go to the forums and introduce yourself. Play on the server (Until it goes private), make a good impression. Fill out an application. When the server goes private, enjoy the life of a llama-free server with skilled players who play for the love of the game and work as a team. The server's regularly patrolled by admins, and any plebes that hack/cheat/act lame get reported on the forums FAST. The admins are great people and very fair; they always warn before stepping in with any admin intervention.
And watch out when I'm on. I always join after work, and my work leaves me a heartless, cynical **obscenity** .
I work tech support. I'm required to be mean and evil.

I suppose if everyone cooperated it would be a good idea
