no there is no justice, you can't get 100% rid of cheaters, they will always be there.

The fun in cheating NS usually wears off as mere curiousity since wallhacks are pretty much useless, and OGC can't see an alien with that flash sprite (which needs only be there when mp_consistency is on). I could easily see both teams hitting f4 and simply waiting to get rid of lamers, offering him no fun, since folks are willing to wait 20 minutes to spawn as aliens, or wait at the marine join. The exploits are mere novelty to most who know them, and few people will tell you what they are. We are here to play the game.

    yes...we know what they are...
and we are not going to tell how to use them...but people still find out....and think its fun to ruin the game for others.

You can ban by IP if you want as well.

Of course, there's always dynamically allocated IPs, but those don't change too often; so you can probably at least ban them for a week until their IP changes again- its better than nothing.

    rcon commands banip and writeip

NS will get VAC with 1.1, which should make cheating somewhat more difficult.

and hes still having a heated argument about it in the form of hundreds of PMs!! aaaah

i still won with the ownage...so thats that.
  • randomrandom Join Date: 2002-11-05 Member: 7090Members
I guess that's the important thing, then. the 'ownage' as it were.

Guess you and the cheaters have the same mentality in that regard.

spellcheck suggestion for ownage = towage. silly spell checker. get with the times!

Cheating in ns is more of abusing bugs, and not really the hacks.

People on dial-up get dynamically alocated ip numbers, and it changes every time they dial up.

By your plan, someone on my isp could cheat, get ip-banned, and then I dial-up and get there old ip.

    Nice idea though.

    And I though wonid's couldn't be changed.
