I have no idea how hard this would be, but in 03.jpg, can you move the particle generator farther back into the vent? The vent reminds me of a drawing of the north wind... kinda like it's blowing cold air through pursed lips.
In 04.jpg, I almost expect some sort of emergency notice to be flashing: "Emergency Lighting Activated" or something. First impression is kind of a local red alert.

BTW: I'm doing a CS map (ducks for cover), there's a property, of the map I think, which sets the ambient light level. It may just dictate how bright the sky texture shines, but if not, that might be the easiest way to get bright screen shots. 'Course it would suck to have to recompile the whole map just to do screen shots but...

i am actually trying to do so, but the map's texture usage is already at 3.64 mb and i'd like it to stay under 4MB...

spotlights will probably be added later, after the playtesting.

I would say 12.jpg actually looks like nothing O_o
as you can't see on this dark screen, there is a broken pipe that blows the smoke balls... btw a great place to hide for <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo--> an wait for a squad of tasty marines <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

and it looks like your going to fit a hive in the middle there near sigma cluster
if you are you should run a vent to sigma cluster so aliens can go in if marines try and seige from there

hive #2 will be located in the south of cargo and hive #3 will be southeast of command center

How the hell do you make those textured minimaps?
to make overvies (thats probably what you wanted to know) you have to type <b>dev_overview 1</b> in the console
center the map on screen with the arrow keys (primary/secondary fire zooms in/out) and take screenshot.
dev_overview 0 switches back to normal view
there are tons of small red lights in them, that sometimes cause max_models (too many brushbased entities) <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->
