I now play on only 2-3 servers where i know most players and admin. get to know the players so u know who has a go and whos there to stuff around.

This is how the design of NS was suppose to work. If you are the commander and you are need someone to go to a double node, and no one is going, check the base for your average 'OMGOMG I NEED HA+JETPACK+GL+HMG RIGHT NOW OMG!!!!11111111' tard and say "I will give you what you want if you go to double node -- here is a waypoint -- but untill you get there you get nothing. Not even a healthpack.' If they actually do go and follow your orders you might want to reward them so 1) They know that you were not just lying to get them to go and 2) So others can see. However, many times commanders cant afford what thier most command obeying marines want -- so if they do what you say and now want thier HMG, etc just keep giving them orders and just keep saying you will get it when you get this or that order done.
They might have an '1337 h4xz0r' attitude but after they die a few times they _will_ go where you say in hopes of getting an HMG later on. Sure, you could very easily loose the game, or get voted out for not giving out the guns -- but it is really the only way for a commander to keep his 10 - 13 aged marines in-line.
If they dont do what you say, you dont do what they say. Oh-so very simple.

Gorges if run-jumping are actually REALLY fast, esp with Celerity.

I still consider including a REAL "slap" feature for commanders(like in Dungeon Keeper) in any upcoming version a good idea.

In Close Combat, units can get scared and then panic, and then they never listen to you and just quiver in their current location and camp.
Oddly enough, its usually only Privates, and not soldiers of higher rank.
You just need to find a good server and stick with it.
I will say this tho: The pubs on our server always seem to flock to marines. I usually go random, but I am getting a little sick of playing alien. Comm is where I am at home. On the positive side I have learned how to be a good skulk :O
