100% more l33t.
I've read the other guides, and they all suck. Here's a much better list of tips for becoming a well-known celebrity.
For commanders:
#1 Concentrate on resource points, not hives! Hives are for the kharaa, resources let you kit people out with snazzy guns!
#2 Marines have taken a hive?? Build a tfac! Forget the phase gates - they don't shoot
#3 Base under attack by fades?? Break out the mines! They do lots of damage!
#4 Got 2 hives vs skulks? Want to spend excess resources? Buy HMG/HA/jetpacks/shotguns. Don't waste res putting up excessive defences in the hives first.
#5 You have a hive?? relax, put your feet up, maybe take a couple of resource points? don't waste marines trying to get another one.
#6 You are going to stealthily build a siege farm near a hive?? build 'turrents' after the tfac - they'll shred the endless stream of rabid skulks, *and* take out that nearby resource point! The aliens will be surprised when you build the siege cannons!
#7 If someone asks for an HMG, then researching it ASAP is the sign of a strong commander!
#8 Give out shotguns like candy - all marines love them!
#9 Heal the marines without armour/weapons - it's the next best thing to a gun, and it would be unfair to leave them out.
For marines:
#1 Your LMG holds 300 bullets - you always need a FULL clip. You are l33t enough, after all.
#2 The armory has a mirror for fixing your make-up, always spend 5 minutes checking it before going out to die.
#3 Turn up your CD player really loud - otherwise you can hear that annoying clicking sound from the soundcard.
#4 The commander really wants everyone to stand around the new structure - it builds team spirit!
#5 Phase gates could kill you! (like in that star trek film) - don't use them.
#6 LMGs suck - you'll never kill anything with it. Pester the commander for a shotgun/hmg [if it's the start of the map, maybe wait 30 seconds, to be fair to the commander]
#7 Dying is failure - try to return to base with at least 10 health, and get medkits from the commander to heal yourself.
#8 'status' in the console shows your frag-count -> take screenshots just before the onos rip apart the base, to prove your l33t skillz.
#9 Kick commanders if they don't give you an HMG/shotgun - it's a sign of mental instability.
#10 If the turrets suddenly switch off - run away! the area is obviously infested with mice!
#11 Fades have splash damage - splash = wet, don't want your make-up to get ruined, so hide in a corner and wait for him to go away.
#12 Losing is a sign of weakness, don't risk it - use F4, it's the smart move.
#13 Never play alien. It's not like you get an insight into their weaknesses or anything.
#14 Always attack structures, even with an LMG!! It might look like you are getting nowhere - but in 3-5 minutes those o-towers will be gone, allowing a sneak attack!
#15 Solo offence-towers are deadly - hide from them, use GLs, use siege. You HAVE to kill it - otherwise you'll never get past!
#16 Resource towers take a long time to kill with a knife - kill it 2-4 times faster by getting the whole group to knife it!
#17 Attack skulks at close range... close range = increased accuracy!
#18 The pistol is pointless - use it as a backup weapon.
#19 Webs? If no-one in your group has a welder/GL, then stand around and wait for one. It's not like a raw marine can take them all out on their own.
#20 You should always win, if you don't then it's the commander's fault - let him know your feelings - everyone will respect you for it.
#21 If you are low on res, and the commander hasn't dropped a GL/HA/HMG/jetpack, then stand around and wait for it - it's not like you could do anything without them
#22 A lerk/fade is shooting from a vent? Get all your mates to come and watch! It's great family entertainment!
#23 If you pick up a welder by mistake - keep it! it's a great close-range weapon, and it's not like that other guy can shoot straight!
#24 If someone else drops a welder/hmg/gl - LEAVE IT. They carry the spirit of the dead marine - no need to mess with the occult.

lmao
My helpful advise, do everything he said but, just the opposite.
Anybody who could possibly take this seriously would be incapable of comprehending good tactics anyway. Nice job.
