245 patch performance decrease?

I was happily averaging 40-60 fps until now in heavy combat moments with my i7 3.1 GHz, GTX 680, 12 GB ram. But since yesterday when i started playing 245 I get down to 15-20 in those moments :-(

Settings: 1920x1080 windowed mode
VSync disabled
AA off
Anisotropic Filter off
Ambient occ off
Everything else on or high

Is it just me?

For me empty map fps increased, but combat fps took some hit

Dont know what it is, I now have everything at minimum setting, low textures, low everything and still I am getting well below 20 fps in combat and sometimes even in no combat moments. I know this is a cpu bottlencked game, but come on, I wasnt suffering this before 245... this feels a bit too much.

I havent changed anyhing on my side, is it really just me? :-(

No one else has reported this, no?

Guess not, no. But this is really a shame. I cant believe that with what I have and all settings at low or off I go now below 20 fps and stutter when there some bullets flying around now... And I sure as hell didnt changed anything hardware or softwarewise in my pc when 245 was released...

I can verify from asking in-game that a few people seem to have this problem, myself included. In 244 my gtx660/AthlonII (3x3.60ghz) was getting a nice ~40+ fps in combat, now its down to roughly 25 or less by mid-late game.

I first noticed when in generator, my fps was practically unplayable very early on in a game where I was playing as alien and we had spawned there.

    Possibly largely unrelated tangent-
I also noticed yesterday when watching the ensl matches that the drippy/dusty effects from placing clogs are rendered even when they are outside the boundries of the map (if the clogs placed on the floor the effect still plays out underneath the floor)- not sure what the performance load of this would be, but its something to think about if any devs are reading ;) )

    @viajero and @meatmachine
would you guys mind following these steps with profile to take some screenshots for me to analyze?
    Thanks

also it would be useful to know the model of the i7. I would guess this is either a bug in the game or something wrong on your end (not accusing, it's just a real possibility).

    The reasoning behind this is because I have a core i5 2500(non k) at 3.3GHz. A HD 7970 with boost and 8GB of DDR3 1333 ram.

I've been getting on average 80fps, and I haven't seen it go below 60, even in heavy combat. I will pay extra attention and update if this turns out to be different.

    My settings are:
    Everything High.
    AA off
    Ambient Occlusion Off
    Texture Streaming Off
    VSYNC off
    Resolution: 1920 x 1080.

So in conclusion, this is strange.

Oh and, this is build 245 performance.

Will do. Just a quick question as I am not familiar with those steps: Am I supposed to use that console command "profile" while in game? Or is this once I have managed to capture a game replay of some kind?

If I need first to generate a replay, please link to the thread where it is explained how to capture one?

    Thanks.

Are you running it in windowed mode? For me the game gets really choppy when I run it in window mode, sadly I have to run fullscreen QQ.

In-game is the better way to do it. The downside of doing it in-game is that you have this giant profiler window blocking your view and you are unable to jump using space (space causes the profiler to start/stop so it overrides whatever else you have bound to it).

Another option is to record a plog using the p_logall command.

Edit: Ack, sorry! The profile logging command is p_logall rather than plog_all. Thanks @Ironhorse

    Aha!
But there is a Fullscreen...wait for it... Windowed mode! Best of both worlds! :-P
No but really did you try this one? shouldn't have fps issues with it?

@viajero and @meatmachine like @scardybob said its best to do it in game.
it'll show me what the most resource intensive item is (generally the culprit if something is awry/different)
And i think he meant p_logall as the command.

Thanks for the help guys. I am ashamed to report that after running the profile command for a good couple of hours yesterday for some reason my fps seemed to behave much better and couldnt find a 15-20 FPS incident to report. Damn it.

I used the command while playing but yesterday I was never below 40 in heavy combat moments with everything (except Vsync and a couple of the otherusual suspects) On or in High setting.

I ll keep trying in the next few days (I ll also try fullscreen) and see if the problem re occurs (funny how I am now looking to get low fps!). So strange, I apologize for the waste of time if in the end this does not seem to be an issue.
