What exactly does the yellow modded server mean?

I'm just curious what "modded server" means? Does it mean you have to download and install some mods before you join the server? Or will mods be automatically downloaded and installed? Or nothing is done on my machine and the modding is all server side? Thanks for answering the question, new to this game and trying to figure out if there's any popular mods.

    The mods *Should* auto download and be installed. Popular mods are Combat, NS2:C (Classic, they recreate NS1's feel), and a couple of others I forgot the name of (Forsaken IIRC?). Oh and dont forget the NS2_BT, which is the balance test mod put out by Sewlek.

    The ones I have listed are game changing mods. There are others like admin mods, player badges/icons, etc that don't really change anything that you'd notice.
