My thoughts on Descent

Hi everyone!
Just posting here since I rarely post on the UW forums and I just wanted to share my thoughts on Descent
First and foremost, It is an absolutely fantastic map
It heavily reminds me of the NS1 maps because the maps in NS1 were quite large in size and games could drag on for long times, which would also make for some pretty epic last stands and sieges
The overall design of the map is incredibly beautiful
I love the bright lights of Plaza and the Club, and the clean,uniform look of the rest of the map

I believe that the map is abit more favored towards alien due to all the tight corridors and pillars/walls/high ceilings/ that the aliens can easily jump onto and around, and hide on
But at the same time shotguns are incredibly useful on this map as well due to it's close-corridor fighting style, so even Marines can have a great time on this map

Playing as Onos on this map is a blast as well since there isn't many long corridor's the marine's can gun you down from (Take the corridor on the right, in Cargo, on ns_veil that leads up to C-12 as an example)

Gorge play is also pretty good on this map in my experience due to the various doorways you can easily plop down clogs and hydras onto for added defense

I haven't seen much Lerk play on this map, maybe since how close-corridor the map is and how easy it would be for you to come around a corner and get killed by Shotguns




Marines are just as awesome to play as well due to how vast the map is like NS1 maps were, It's pretty awesome slowly taking back the map from the alien side, and it's always cool to set up a base somewhere inside of the Club or Plaza.
