Hi

I want to edit my particle systems ingame, but it does not function. (F7 / F4 don't work)
I read that this is only possible with natural selection technical release.
The problem is that all download server are offline and thus I asked me if somebody could send me a link or would send it to me via icq / irc.

Hope you can help me, thx and

Bye
Gimli

Hm the nstr does not function <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->, every time i try to load a simple box map, i get an "assertion faild" error.

Does anyone know how to get the tr release working or how i can edit my particle systems ingame with the latest ns version?

What I did was simply to keep the map editor running in the background, run ns with my map, look at the particle system... alt tab to the editor, change settings, do an -onlyents compile, alt tab back to ns, restart the map, observe the changes, rinse and repeat.

You can do this in NS. Just remeber to join a team first <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

The idea with alt tab is stupid because my halflife chrashes when I do this, but the other method could work, I'll test it out, thx!

The idea isn't "stupid" just because it doesn't work on your computer. Alt tab works fine for many people.

Did you try using the "editps" (or whatever it is) console command? Maybe the keybind is just missing from the official NS release? I'm guessing here.

You can run Half-Life windowed, which is..ah.. rather helpful I think, if you experience problems with tabbing back and forth. Which I usually do. Besides I get so bloody impatient waiting for the monitor to flicker to the new resolutions.

Run Half-Life, just once, with the command -win ..I think? Then go to where you set your resolution, and now there's a "Run Windowed" option you can check. You just need to do the -win thing once, the Windowed checkbox setting will be there permenantly from then on out. Mighty handy if you ask me. You can switch to software-rendering as well if you feel up to it, it's good enough to test out most settings imo (that's my experience from HLDM and CS talking there, I don't know if NS has any specific things that just doesn't work in softwaremode).
