for some reason only in uk servers is happening to me. when i join then i got pings of 150 to 180 when normaly was 80 to 90. only start happening since the last update. i try nl, fr, swe, and germans servers and my ping is fine, join a uk one and it goes up. usa servers for me is about 160 so i dont get how uk ones are exactly the same as usa.

anyone having similiar issues? and cant be my connection since i can play in others server with normal ping only the uk ones have crazy pings now. i m in portugal so the ping cant be that high

also forgot to say that in other games like cs or gmod my ping is fine in uk, so only happens in ns2 for some reason

so decide to try a traceroute to see the issue and seems that multiplay is not working well

Has this only been a recent issue? If so it could mean an issue with an ISP or NSP. Are you just viewing the ping in the server browser or are you joining these servers and watching it for a while in-case it goes down?

Sounds like you just have a routing issue. Try contacting Multiplay and send them a few traces to see if they can do anything.

Interesting, what does a ping on ns2.ibisgaming.com get you?

For reference a ping on lon056.multiplay.co.uk gives me 151ms from ATL GA.

I do also experience this with UK servers, especially the TWATS servers, I do go between 150-800ping and last night the server booted me from it, so now I cant find it in the server list or join friends that are playing on it.

    Hi Guys

Sorry to hear you have had trouble connecting. What I can tell you is.....

If you were playing on TWAT #1 this is a multiplay server
Any other TWAT servers that dont have 4.6GHz after them are hosted in France (Roubaix)
The NEW TWAT servers with 4.6GHz appended to the server name are hosted in the UK with 2Gbps uplinks.

Im not sure if Multiplay had a problem the other night though.

    FYI

    Resolved - Partial Network Issues
Last updated on 20/2/2013 20:29:00 by XXXXXX
We are currently seeing very high levels of almost certainly malicious 'attack' network traffic. This may cause temporary interruptions to services with IP address starting 85.236.*.

Much as we love giving the little darling kiddies that launch these attacks a sense of self worth, we are investigating the attack traffic right now with a view to mitigation. :)

    Many thanks for your patience.

Update @ 20:29 UTC: This issue should now be resolved. Our stats now indicate normal traffic patterns - so affected customers should now see good connectivity once again. Thanks again for your patience. :)

There is a massive issue with Telefonica's peering to London at the moment, its massively overloaded, however you are in Portugal (a guess from your name) so this might not affect you. In fact it wont affect you at all as you have already done a tracert ;)
