Extreme ping.

I'm trying to join a server, and all of them were displayed with pings in the 250+ range. Joined a server anyways, and it turns out I have the ridiculous ping, which is weird because I don't have ping above 100 in any other game I play. This is recent, didn't have this problem a week ago. And it only happens with NS2. Every other online game works fine for me.

Have you tried testing a wired connection to your router and seeing if that fixes it? It's an easy enough test to do and would help to narrow things down a bit.

Tried a few things that didn't work, but the situation has resolved itself, pings are back to normal. I can only assume it was an issue on the provider's end that they fixed.

You should also make sure you don't have any malware or viruses that might be affecting your bandwidth such as a "Downloader" virus or somethingl like that. If your computer is clean and the issue comes back, check in another game or make a speedtest, if the ping seems oddly high, contact your ISP , their might be a metallic trouble on your line.

I had a similar problem that wouldn't go away, and it turned out there was actually a virus/malware on my router, not any of the computers. Sneaky. Formatted the router and the problem was fixed.

However, this problem solved itself, so I'm guessing it had to do with something outside my control i.e. the ISP.
