<div class="IPBDescription">So angryyy</div>So I'm basically having this issue where I can't play NS2 anymore without really high ping 500+ or I crash just randomly. It's been starting to confuse me because before this started happening I could play perfectly fine. And even before this problem I was using wireless and I was far from the router (Right now on ethernet). I lag around the players and my actions take long to respond, and I crash too which is very odd. My specs are not the problem at all. I can turn the game on the highest settings and run 60 frames fine. Anyways really need help and I don't know what to do anymore D:
Specs:
Intel Core i7-3770 CPU 3.4GHz
Nvidia GTX 660 GPU
8.00 GB RAM

Plug directly into your router with an ethernet cable and test it out... if you have no issues then you know its wireless and we can go from there.
:)
D:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\natural selection 2\Tech support.exe
but otherwise when not crashing, type "net_log 3" in the console (~ key) when you are experiencing your high ping issue.
Then immiately after exit, without running NS2 again, go to your hidden
%appdata%/natural selection 2/
folder and look for log.txt
Upload it's contents to some web hosting service like pastebin and then copy the link here in a reply.
Also, an explanation of your network configuration (i.e. ISP name, router type, is it in bridge mode? etc etc) would be greatly helpful
Hate to ask the obvious, but have you ruled out external programs or computers running on your network? I.e. Utorrent uploading, or a roomate?
And finally, a DXDIAG report , again uploaded using pastebin would be great. (Windows key + R, then type dxdiag , then "save all information" will put it in a text file.)
Thanks
We have wave and the router type is a Linksys E2500, and yes it's in bridge mode. And thinking again we do have alot of things connected. An iPhone, Droid, 2 iPads, an iPod, and my computer, but that's all that usually is on the network. Not sure what other info you want here....
I'll give you a log file next time I play.

THEN,
Disable every single thing using your network except you.. verify by looking at your router's LED lights for network activity.
Then run that test again AND run NS2 afterwards..
We need to isolate the issue. .. its worth shutting everything else down just to find out whats doing this. :)
we must eliminate all outside factors first.
Connect wired Ethernet cable directly from your PC to your modem, reboot both, and try both that website and NS2.
