Forced Random for Public servers

<div class="IPBDescription">Stacking is just ruining a good time</div>Anyone else noticed that a pub server will always get stacked with the best players on one side and everyone else on the other. I'd like to suggest Forced random. Decided serverside, or if possible coding in some sort of register that picks up if the same people are playing on the same team repeatedly then forcing random.

inb4 "I play with friends" "we tried it once and it randomed the good players on one team it was even worse" "why don't you get 3-4 friends and stack back".

Stacking to be relevant (farming KD in pubs) will never die in NS, it's one of the major reasons why co_ is so popular.

Forced random is a bit much, but I would like a vote for force random. Some servers have it and after a couple of games of 2-3 really good guys stacking one team the rest of the server will vote for a random, it normally distributes skill evenly and makes for much better games.

Actually That does sound a lot better than my suggestion. Not so heavy handed. And still allows players to play the race they want while creating a way to deal with the issue as it arises.

i keep saying this but ns2 needs a proper match readying system like in league of legends - it would make matches a lot better. (similar to starcraft 2 i guess)

edit: the ready room is a flawed concept for a game like ns2 - the first minute or 2 of the round can decide the winner of the game.

I much prefer playing aliens. Forced random would greatly diminish my enjoyment of the game. I don't mind playing marines once in a while but if I was forced onto the marine team 50% of the time I think I would be quitting a lot of games prematurely becuase of it.

Yeah the ready room is cool and all but it's functionality is pretty flawed. A more standard lobby system would leave a lot more room for extra features and still get people into the game more efficiently.

I've long agreed, but UWE would never get rid of the rr. The next best option is to institute a matchmaking lobby system before you join the server, which then send everyone to the server and distributes them to the appropriate teams automatically.

I do like the sound of matchmaking but I don't think It'll work for me (In NZ) not too many options for servers. There's also the issue of metrics and how you determine the skill of a player. Probably would also have to be profiles made to store all your data on a global server (locally hosted would be to easy to hack), a large cost to the company I imagine. Though it would be nice to be able to see in simplified manner what areas you need to improve on.
