    Lies, there is no such news yet!

    (But yeah, I just noticed the game updating and was wondering what's going on. Hotfix some bugs?)

    EDIT: Ok, their Twitter says something about a "client-crash on map load hotfix".

    I'll post this to a this thread also because it seems that there might be a problem when game has crashed and not started up successfully when a new patch comes.

    After the new update when i submitted a crash log, Steam auto updated the game to a build 228 and i can't fix that. Local content is verified and i've even tried to update to a beta build but the game stays at build 228 and i can't play.

    Steps to error:
    1. Played a game
    2. Game crashed.
    3. Waited a game to submit a crash log
    4. Tried to open natural selection 2 from steam to play again.
    5. Steam updates the game
    6. Game is build 228

    Update: Also after complete reinstall i'm still getting a build 228!

    I get client& server differ message everytime.
    Steam refuses to verify game-cache for some reason...it stays at 0%.
    It does seem I got some hotfix applied, though. I had to give a new NS2.exe firewall permission.

    Sometimes, my PC will freeze.
    And why do all my favourite servers suddenly have pings close to 200?

    p.s. I just checked in explore mode, I have version 237.

    I'm confused as to why beta builds exist when actual game-breaking issues manages to slip through the cracks like this. Since the beta builds are supposedly all about stability rather than any balance changes, this kind of thing should not happen at all. Ah well kudos to the prompt response and hopefully we won't have a repeat occurrence again so soon.

    I don't understand why you people want to continue to make the game into tf2. The loading screen crash introduced a fun metagame that increased the skill ceiling required to enjoy the game.

    I have encountered a bug with build 236 and I don't know if it was fixed in 237 or not. Sometimes cyst chains break where they register as unconnected and die off, but they are so close to another cyst at the (apparent) break that I cannot place another, due to the minimum cyst distance. Since there is no option to kill a cyst and rebuild it, and no other method to reconnect, my entire chain and 3 extractors died while I could only watch, waiting for the hive to finish and connect that way. I think it even cost my team the game. Since marines controlled the other hallway, I couldn't connect the chain through there. It was a very frustrating bug.

    I'm sure they do it on purpose /sarcasm.

    The beta thing is there so people can try it out and help out the developers. Not many people try out the beta, in other words, not many computers do; and so when the game goes public, these issues occur.

    The devs obviously have a much greater dependence on crowd feedback about these issues than your average mammoth triple A FPS, because they're a small group, and they need a lot of system specs confirming any bugs (which people can always facilitate if they're so concerned).

    are you sure you werent just placing the cysts on different levels?

    also anyone know when the content patch is coming out? thougth 236 was supposed to be it

    Can you give more precise reproduction steps on this please?
    trying to visualize what you are saying is difficult here.. but i get the gist that you cannot place a cyst when you should be able to (in range of another)

    For all the users with wrong patch, i've found that you have to disable all mods you are using to get the 237 patch up and running.

    Excuse me...could I get some information please?
    I mean there I was, playing NS 2 with my gaming community, suddenly upon a map-change we all crash, we all receive this mystery "update", which I assume is 237 - Which isn't mentioned on the front-page, isn't explained anywhere (other than this brief notation that it exists), isn't provided with a changelog of any sort, isn't being applied to my poor server (which is now hopelessly behind with 1 whole build :'( ) and nothing at all seems clear about this, so I apologize in advance - but feel in my right to ask "What gives???"

    I think NS2 needs to implement a system like wow when they patch and FORCE all mods off when a new (big) patch is applied since it seems to break almost all mods and cause loads of problems for people who forget or don't realise they are running mods.
