New Players

I'm not sure what to say , when I first played the game , I was experienced from NS1 , watched hours of gameplay videos and everything... Many people around were experienced , I died many times as a rookie but it was still enjoyable . (I still die because of low fps and high ping :) )
Now ? There are noobs (not rookies , noobs) who thinks that they know the game . Even throught I filter rookie servers , I always see new players in the game.... They just play it as a fps , charge to enemy , don't build , don't protect etc and they also jump into comm chair... For people that plays it as a fps , I can't say too much . But about commanders? They ruin all the fun in the game. Even if you can make your team to eject them , it would be probably too late.
There are two kinds of commanders , one is rookies other is noobs . Rookies are good at a point. They listen , they learn , they try their best . Noobs on the other hand , I'm trying to tell them what they should do , doesn't listen . In the end (if we're lucky) team ejects him but the game is already lost at that point .
Don't think wrong , I'm not the best commander but still I know most stratgies in the game , I'm trying to do my best to support my players with meds , ammos etc. So why I don't comm ? For two reasons , first is that there are many players out there not listening to my orders and not protecting any base/building. Other reason is I don't have voice chat (actually I have a mic on my laptop but I think it's broken because even my friend is not hearing me) .
In the end , I played this game without breathing after I bought it . But when new ones joined , I hated the game. I can only play for 1 or 2 hours without getting mad . Again , I'm not mad because of losing , I can enjoy the game even if I lose the game . Losing because of noobs running around is on the other hand , something I can't take.
--- >>> What you can do ? Make rookie tag not optional and made it about 50 hours for everyplayer. And MAKE SURE ROOKIE PLAYERS ARE ONLY ALLOWED ON ROOKIE FRIENDLY SERVERS.

Nah just find servers you like and favorite them.
^ This, I always keep an eye out for the Geriatric Ward and [gg]gentlemen gamers, 7/10 times there are decent players on.
I tried my best to say "I'm not pro" or "I'm not the best one out there" . Still , I do what I must do for my team to win . Even that means sitting in the base and doing nothing . So unless you're one of that noob players out there I don't think you and I have any problem playing together.
@sharnrock
unfortunately I'm from Turkey and many servers are giving me high pings (80 is best). From time to time I see turkish servers but they usually empty and when they're full they have low performance. Best ones around there for me is FR servers and official servers . In FR servers , people usually speak french which I can't understand even a single word :)
I will try to find some good servers and favorite them but I still want rookies to stay in rookie friendly servers (there are many rookie friendly servers out there)
Let me say it again , I don't want to be a di*k . I'm actually a nice person trying to help these rookies out there as much as I can . But the people I'm talking about (noobs) they don't answer, they don't care what you're saying . They just run around and shoot whatever they see . This what ruins the game
There is just an influx of rookies and new players at the moment, due to the winter sales. For a while it will be a little rocky having them as commanders, but they will either get better at it (only one way to get better at commanding, they say) or get tired of doing poorly at it and give up.
Give it a month or two and I wager it won't be an issue any longer.
Also, playing on servers you like helps a lot. I've been playing on the Voogru servers and there is a pretty big group of skilled regulars there which always helps when you have new players joining.

Pretty tired of having 3 people on the team with 10:1 KDR and the rest with 1:10 KDR on both sides, but I guess it's a process that every game goes through. It's a little steeper with this one because there's so many ways you can fail and so few ways to win in this game. It's not enough to have a good team or a good commander or to be good at aiming or to have good teamwork. You need all of the above.
It's possible that some were just being aggressive and trying to take out harvestors - which is important as marines these days.
Setting up bases and capping res is important, but at least in the current state of the game, it's important to for marines to apply pressure. Of course, if the marines aren't being effective in applying pressure they should be doing something else. Sure, if the start points are flight/sub and every single marine just rushes computer lab, and dies, and nobody caps res, then that's a problem.
While I agree that a good aiming Marine is always a force to reckon with, I wouldn't say that a player with a 1:10 KDR can't commit about the same or even more to the team than a Marine with a positive KDR. It all depends on your role.
Yesterday on ns2_docking I had a KDR of 7:17 or so, but I destroyed 8(!) Harvesters, 2 Upgrade Chambers and countless Eggs solo, cut important Cyst chains, when there was no Harvester left, and always kept 1 to 3 Alien players busy at defending, which passively commited to the defense of our RTs, because most aliens were too busy with our pressure team(s) and me being the annoying orange. :)
Of course, if people only run into battles and die over and over again not killing a single alien structure or alien, then... yes, it's time for them to improve their aim, situational awareness and teamplay.
People need to learn that KDR is not the indicator of how much they contribute to the team. It doesn't even show how good they perform in battle, because if your team loses an important battle over a chokepoint, while you ran away to keep a good KDR or if you just finish off most enemies firing not much but that last bullet or if you just shoot enemies after they have killed your RT/Arms Lab/Obs/whatever, well... you may have a good KDR, but your team has lost an important battle or an important structure.
This team-oriented game is all about res, structures, map control and teamwork... not so much about individual KDR.
You can always win against a stupid marine (defending) team by defending your expansion until onos, especially if you're in a dominant position as far as res. The problem is when the marine team is actually good (read: attacking). Structure kills are nice, but someone's gotta kill the people shooting at the hive, you know?
P.S. As an experiment, a week ago I played a few rounds purposely not attacking marines on alien team. Like, at all. I didn't have a single bite/hit the entire game - even as an onos. I'd just attack structures. In the end I consistently had the highest score on the team, which by itself doesn't mean much, since SOMEONE on the team had to "carry" me while I took structures down, but I'm just saying - it's possible to be extremely useful and do well in the game without even attacking marines on alien side.
On marine side, that wouldn't work as well due to speed issues. Aliens can hit and run, while Marines can't.
So yea rant aside, kdr does not nearly paint the entire picture.
The odds are such that you won't get rich on that bet.
