Game feels bad, some elements...

Where are the Webs which was announced by Charlie Cleveland?
To come back to the most important part, the balance and engine.

I enjoy this game...sometimes, but there some IMPORTANT elements which destroy the fun of the game a lot, i dont know if you care or just laying in your chair and drinking your beer with your pockets full of the Fans $$ :P


Joining a team, you all know, the whole time people join marines, why is that? because they dont lose that much as aliens did.
Aliens are harder to play then marines.
So you have to be very lucky to play on marine side, the only thing which makes marines empty is, if a bunch of known or clanmember from the actual server, join the aliens or if the aliens won last round...



The balance is not good, while marines just have to keep up to 3-4 resource towers, aliens need the whole map to get much res.
Most of the games marines got after 4-6 minutes a phasegate already and can teleport through the whole map, this totaly ruin the balance of the game.
Dont say cele. balance it out, so you will say marines CAN research PGs but aliens are forced to pick up shift chambers? thats just stupid!
More on the balance, arcs are totaly overpowered, as its not enough marines got so much weapon power, welder which repairs everything, macs which repairs everything, no marines got mobile sieges which can shoot THROUGH THE WALL? i have seen games won by ARC trains just because aliens havent bilebombs...you can not focus on so many arcs in one room, oh and dont forget these sh** things can shoot through walls...
why marines are so overpowered?
i can not describe how bad this game feels most of the time.
dont get me wrong, i really enjoyed the first game Natural SeleCtion 1 but there so many elements on NS2 which i hate so much.

Why the fork can marines move into every vent? arent vents for ALIENS dammit?
Oh and if im at this part, why there so less vents on the maps?
You also said there will be more abilitys for the gorge, but the gorge is a piece of fat slow walking pig, did i mention the gorge spitting? its horrible, how can you do something so terrible? its not possible to hit a marine on purpose, you have to be LUCKY EVEN if you shoot a marine in front of you!

Unfair scan, why is the shade not working like the obsevatory?
i mean a obsevatory makes a camo alien USELESS and the whole hide and seek useless.
you can not hide from scans, yes a scan cost 3 res, but 3 res are a joke for marine commander...if the whole marine team see where EVERY alien is in the part of the map.
remember 1 cyst for aliens cost 1 res...so a scan is worth 3 cysts...the people who know how fast you kill a cyst know what i mean.
why did a onos die so quick about a dual minigun exo? if you would compare onos and gorge vs dual minigun marine with welder, the onos will lose, how come?
1. Marine welder is ENDLESS, they can weld all day long, gorge healing is limited.
2. Onos can only attack on close combat, so the exo can shoot already in the distance, and yes its not preventable in some parts of the map im talking about.
thats the next thing, why is welder endless? why can every marine just buy a cheap 5 res welder and weld the command station, while every alien have to leave and change their lifeform? and even with that, a gorge is very fast exhausted so he can not heal, even with adrenaline.



Thats it about the balance, playing on the alien side is so much work, you NEED the half map with harvester, compared to marines who can win if they just got 3 extractors, because if they researched the most stuff, the marine commander dont have to spend many res, the alien commander have to spend much res.


The Engine:
how come that sometimes projectiles stuck or get stoped in air?
hard to explain but let me explain some examples...
1. You are a gorge, you bilebomb something, you move back and forward, what happend? YOU BILEBOMB yourself, its like your hitbox or physics box from yourself get hit by yourself, how can this be???
Thats the same thing like if you sneak behind a crate, marine shoot at you, you are already "safe" behind the crate but you die before and get hit, even if you are miles away this position you were before, HOW CAN THIS BE?
I got a ping of 30 and no lags, whats wrong with this engine?
Or if i shoot grenades as a marine, i shoot them walk left, right, forward and backward, because of mates walking in front of me, and the nade MAGICAL hit something in the air and fall back to me, how is this possible? What is this for a terrible hit detection?

2. jump + crouch, why it feels so crazy? if you jump and crouch the same time, its like someone kick you in the butt...
3. falldamage, why is there no falldamage? why can marines fly up to 1000 miles in the air fall down and dont even have a scratch?
4. why has a game of the year 2012, no impact holes? not even blood decals on the wall/ground? i mean the snowballs have decals why not bullets or blood???

thats all, i just hope you start the year 2013 with some fixes, your game is great and i love it, but it has many problems.
i really want to write down this, it annoys me so much.

    A few things.

    You are actually very wrong about the resources. In competitive games, aliens HAVE to be on 4 or less res nodes, preferably 3 or less, or else they will win every time. Marines are the one that have to have 6, because of medspamming + their tech costs significantly more.

    There are no hive teleports because maps in general are a lot smaller than NS1. It's different.

    The reason why your bullets are hitting yourself is because <u>you are playing on ######ty servers</u>. If your server is not 30tick, you will see things like that. Press ` and type in "net_stats" and look at the server tick rate. I'm willing to bet money that you're playing on one of those dumpster servers that spike down at 10 ticks/second (which is absolute garbage).

    This. As soon as I saw my bile bombs explode in front of me I checked the server tick rate. It was down to about 13.

    RTV, all that I can tell you is to just hang tight. This stuff will get ironed out eventually.

    anyways, all the fanboys are going to come here and try to defend their game, so dont listen to anything they say as they all sound like used car salesmen.

    You are completely correct that this game has problems, some of them you pointed out. As for which team is better, that depends on players, generally however it goes like this :

    terrible marine team > terrible alien team
    ok marine team < ok alien team
    awesome marine team ? awesome alien team
