I wrote this thing mainly to Archaea when I just started playing NS2. There are obvious and less obvious rules about positioning yourself as marine. Too bad the combat positioning was left out. It might be even more important than in ns1 since there is no friendly fire to force people out of most horrible positionings.

Very good read, I especially like the part about containing the aliens in their base (Marines in Computer Lab and Ventilation) and defending marine RTs by proper positioning and camping. It's like Marines taking Stability Monitoring (in the old docking), it was pretty much the #1 spot to be, next to Maintenance.

Tane, good reading material. It's weird how basic this stuff really is however there are so many players who sacrifice there awesome aiming due to poor positioning.
