Playing game for +1 Hour Freezes all of a sudden

When I play the game, if I play for a long time, it might just freeze out of nowhere. Can anyone help fix this problem?

Game Settings: On High (For everything)

Have I installed DX?

When I started the instillation of this game, Steam installed it for me.

Can it be my system is overheating? Which leads to the Freeze?

Comp Specs:

Win7 x64
gtx 560 ti
i72600k 3.4 GHz
8 GB of RAM
Plenty of HD space

After I just Ctrl+Alt+Delete and close the NS2, then start it up again.. But I tend to forget which game I joined..

Any Ideas why this might be happening? I've played video games for hours sometimes with other video games, and I never really experience freezes like this. Is this a crash or a freeze and Why?

Thanks In Advance,
Livyatan

that was my first though, over heating. Some of the graphics card utilities will allow you to adjust your fan settings manually. There might be another way to monitor the heat. Good luck.

Check your game log under %APPDATA%\Natural Selection 2\log to make sure you aren't getting some kind of error that could be causing the freeze.

I have the exact same problem (only with NS2) and it isn't a heating issue. I haven't figured out if there is a fix yet though.

In my case it just keeps piling up memory after playing multiple different maps in a row until it eventually runs out of it. And this is regardless of Texture Streaming and Texture Quality settings - it happens with any combination of those settings. Sometimes Windows even starts to nags in and complains that the program needs more memory than available (3.3 GB RAM available to the OS, though it is of course capped to 2 GB for the application).
Runs all fine in the first rounds but after some hours (or sometimes even less than an hour) it starts to get worse and worse. Yeah, there may not be an universal memory leak since not everyone has those problems. But there definitely seems to be some kind of memory leak that occurs only under specific circumstances.
