Demo function?

Hey guys,
iam back now and i want to do a new NS2 Fragvideo much better than my first one in early beta phase <a href="http://youtu.be/vjP0vl54rN0" target="_blank">Watch<----</a>
So my question is: Is there a new console command for recording and playing demos so i don't have to record with fraps anymore?

    Yes, but no. To use as few words as possible: You can record demos right now, but it is impossible to use them for creating a movie.

    why is it impossible? i can record it but i can't replay or what? the only problem at recording is to play while fraps is activated because of lowfps...if i can record a demo of mine or other guys gameplay and then restart it and watch it "offline" it would be enough because after finishing demo it is simple to record everything with fraps or another program. Which console command records a demo?

    At HL-engine-games you were able to write "record demo1" to recordyour gameplay, "end" to end, "play demo1" to replay demo1 and "start demo1" to record it in frame pictures who were saved at the hl-folder, really simple :/

    You can record demos, but there is no first person spectator yet so I have no idea how you are going to make a frag video. I am not even sure third person is supported in play demo-mode.

    The Spark engine does, to my knowledge, not feature what you describe as saving movie frames, like SourceRecorder. I don't really think that's coming though...

    The command exists, but it's too bugged and bonkers for any frag movie use. For example a smooth playback is next to impossible.

    The command in console is
    record [demoname]

    And playback in console is
    play [demoname]

    However, there is no method to directly convert the demo to either a series of pic+audio file or video file. Instead, you have to use a screen capture program to record the demo playback, which causes problems because the speed of demo playback changes with your fps (e.g. FRAPs the demo playback will lower the playback FPS and cause it to play very slowly).

    Your best option is to use a screen capture program, like the ones I've listed <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=122818" target="_blank">here</a>, or something like Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), which I've found to have the least impact streaming NS2 and can record to a file instead of a stream.

    In a nutshell, demo's are recorded at a fixed FPS, and played back in frames. So if your machine renders the frames more slowly on playback, you get slowdown while watching. So if you use FRAPS to record a demo playback, the extra CPU cycles fraps eats slow down your FPS rendering, and you get a slow motion game video.

    [edit] there's also lots of weird bugs, where the game will randomly pick the wrong vector for the crosshair to be point at, and just generally do weird things.

    Mhh okay thats kinda annoying :/

    Do someone know where i can get "good" frags, clips, gameplays which are already recorded?
