Low resolution user interface

I have a i7, 6gb ram, gt525m 1gb.
In order to get a consistent FPS, I need to play with everything off and at 1024x768 resolution or lower.

The problem is, when I'm using a low resolution, the user interface screws up.
Server selection is a real mess. I need to change resolution, select my filters and then go back to my playable resolution.

The player list (tab key) do not show some stuff because the information extrapolates to the right. So the right table gets over the left table extrapolated information, and the right table extrapolated info gets over the screen limits. So I can't see, for example, my ping while I'm playing.

Is there a workaround or someone is working on a fix for this?

Even at 1920x1080, the "passworded" option at server list looks off position.

Yeah, hopefully. I get this problem as well.

I honestly think this should have a higher priority than fixing performance. Some people can't play the game because of performance, why? Because lowering your resolution is not an alternative, it's so broken only a super fanboy like me would settle down with sub-1024x768. It's crazy that this hasn't been fixed yet.

There is the same problem on the opposite end. I play at 2560x1440, and all the UI elements in-game are way too tiny. They don't scale, so stuff like health becomes a tiny little circle in the corner, and I find it hard to keep track of how much health I have.

UI elements should all be exactly the same size regardless of resolution, resolution independence is pretty standard in most games.

For some UI elements you can lower the fonts size with own generated FNT fonts using a program bmfont. It will not solve a scoreboard problem because scoreboard is using TTF fonts instead of FNT.

I am playing in 640x480 with small fonts. You can compare the original FNT fonts and my small fonts:
    1) <a href="http://imageshack.us/a/img708/2914/ns22012121604074634.jpg" target="_blank">Before</a> and <a href="http://imageshack.us/a/img14/5541/ns22012121604051944.jpg" target="_blank">after</a>

Can you please do a how-to tutorial to fix the fonts? Thanks.

    Sorry for so slooooooow answer

Here is short version of how-to:
    1) Install bmfonts
    2) Run bmfonts
    3) Options>Load Configurations
    4) Go to location "c:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Natural Selection 2/core/fonts"
    5) You need to change the AgencyFB font series (used for marine UI and in main menu), Kartika and Stamp font series (used for alien UI). So, load their configurations
    6) After loading a configuration, Options>Font settings.
    7) Change size(px) and if you want a font family.
    8) Export your fonts (Options>Save Bitmap Font) and replace your original *.fnt font.
    9) Repeat for other fonts, starting from third step.

Tip - If you want to enable a font smoothing for your fonts:
    1) Options>Font settings.
    2) Enable "Render from TrueType outline", "TrueType hinting", "Font smothing", "ClearType".

Can you tell me what resolution and font size you are using so I can imitate it? Thanks.

There are more than 1 file for the fonts. Should I resize every file?

+1 to this. Also is there a way to make the health box smaller? it's great the text doesn't totally block vision but the box still covers alot of info up. Is there away just to display the health bar and remove every thing else?

    EDIT: To help others
AgencyFB_lage affects the loading screen and main menu text size.
AgencyFB_Small changes the server menu size and the bold lettering over extractors and other things. I believe I used 20 as the size and it seems good. I just made the other text so small it disappears.
