Don't know why people expect me to do these every week -- cause I won't. I'll do them whenever I have the time and I feel like I have something relevant to say. I was really hoping there would be more discussion in this thread (oma tried, kudos for that, but the horrible google translate made it pointless). I might post a Christmas break roundup if the mood hits me...
I will mention some interesting recent developments now, though:
Saunamen vs. Evolve or Die at 20:00 CET today: Saunamen have to win this, preferably 4-0, if they are to have any hope at reaching playoffs. EoD, on the other hand, need to take as many rounds as possible to keep Mercury at bay. In the larger scale of things, the timings of EoD-Mercury-Sauna matchups (EoD-Sauna in week 3 and Mercury-Sauna in week 5) is a big advantage for EoD, but I'll leave that topic for a future post.
Evolve or Die recently recruited two new players; longas (unknown to me) and Danny (previously of Rines with Dreams, lots of NS1 experience to boot). Unsure what to think of these additions. I've also seen dux (official ns2 mapper, lots of ns1 experience from top teams like 9L and Knife) playing with EoD in scrims, which I assume is because they're having some activity problems. Could spell trouble in the future for them.
Duplex, on the other hand, have been very active, and look like they might be recruiting up to three new players, although I won't name them until they're confirmed. All good players though and could help give duplex the boost they need to compete against coolclan in the semi final come january.
Finally, Mercury recently recruited laama (previously of the now-defunct Exertus). IMO a great addition to their roster and in good timing as they will have the chance to gel over the Christmas break.
And then the most interesting match of all season:
Sauna vs HG 6th of Jan.
I hope we are gonna have good casts of that game! We need at least 3 different streams in different 12 languages! No other match will be as interesting.
Now this game might come down to who are the least rusty from holidays. But since the importance of that game, I expect both teams to step da f*kk up and practice like a muddaf so I will be entertained. Remember, its all about me.
Also, in an event of 2-2 in that match, it will end in both teams having 11p, but only 1 team can advance to the finals. I cant find anything about it in the rules... So what happends then?

Yes, we finally started to turn off the pub mode in competitive matches. Somehow we used to play all by ourselfs (holding back critical information, trying to attack alone, etc), which kept bringing us into stressful situations, that made it even worse, but now I feel like we are getting better and better with each match.
Also we now have some kind of a fix roster with three new really skilled players (Shoot2Kill, Hakatri and Lepidus). Since our commander Lebowski had to take a break from ns2, 3del (former field player) has taken over command (well, actually we just told him "FYI, you're comm now"). Even though he still has a lot to learn as commander, he has done really well so far and I'm happy that we found such a good replacement for Lebowski.
EDIT: It seems i've mistakenly made predictions to a wrong week, so ill correct those errors!
This time no gTranslate :D, ill try to write a little roundup for the div2 group A week 4 (as im more familiar with that group and div).
<b>Week 4</b> Week 4 will be pretty interesting as these upcoming games will determine the end result of the group.
Below we can see the present (week3) standings: <img src="http://s18.postimage.org/pol8fux95/div2gaweek3.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> as we see Nexus Gaming holding the first place and be water my friend holding the second place, but here's where it gets pretty interesting vetus drawing with Nexus (week3) and winning be water my friend (week2 3-1) and noting that Nexus and Be water have not yet met. No worries bros and sis's their next game just happens to be at week 4 and as stated before will decide how teams are placed in a group. (imho the other three teams are the weakest of these six badass teams, so i would think vetus, be my water and nexus will get solid victories from the leftovers)
<u><b>So here are my Week 4 predicts:</b></u>
<u>NexuS Gaming</u> vs. <u>Be Water My Friend</u> <i>Pretty even teams so if this game is going to be casted, it's a must see for div2 fans. As of my knowledge Nexus might have a little edge in this game and i predict this will end by Nexus raising the heads of those called Water Friends like a victory trophies, 3-1 or even a solid victory (4-0) from Nexus. (vetus most likely hoping water friends for taking as many rounds as possible)</i>
<u>Vetus</u> vs. <u>The French Connexion</u> <i>This might be an interesting match as we see those frenchies hunger for more scores as they will need all they can get, but from the statistic point of view this should be an walk in a park for Vetus, so four to nothing for vetus and they will carry the finnish flag in pride</i>
<u>Forward</u> vs. <u>YO Clan</u> Those legendary baconmen from the golden past are back in town, they will have much to prove and if they have practised enough, they will easily take those desperately needed points to home, so 3-1 for legends if suprised by YO clan maybe a draw can be seen.
<u><b>So by accident, i've made week 5 predictions too:</b></u>
<u>Vetus</u> vs. <u>Forward</u> <i>The groups blacksheep against the one of the favourites. Anyhow you look this match i dont think this will be a much of struggle, so vetus will be taking this easily four to nothing.</i>
<u>French Connexion</u> vs. <u>NexuS Gaming</u> <i>I don't know a lot about French Connexion but i'm having a hunch that they will be steamrolled by those beasts from spain, nothing will stop them from coming and taking those well earned points. This will be a solid victory for NeXus four to nothing.</i>
<u>Be Water My Friend</u> vs. <u>YO Clan</u> <i>I wouldn't be suprised for a fast four rounds, the skill difference is just too huge and not enough time to catch up, but hey anything can happen even a baserush might change the tides but honestly it would be a huge suprise if My Water Friends wouldn't take this four to nothing, keep drinking water my brothers so you wont become anything like me!</i>
<i>My english is not perfect but you can't blame me for trying :D</i> <i>EDIT: accidently wrote the entire prediction by calling be water my friend as a be my water friend :D</i> <i>EDIT2: It seems that the beer is makign it's way up and thats why i made some week5 predictions too, damn you swalk for correcting me.. :D</i>

Yeah, div 2 group a is a very interesting group. Any group where fwd; who has a roster full of old school ns1 players; is getting destroyed is going to be a monster. The playoffs should also be amazing, with especially thirsty from group b having a very strong team. Impossible to tell who will win in the end.

Matches I'm looking most forward to in week 4: Evolve or Die vs Mercury Mint vs The Team The French Connexion vs vetus Be water my friend vs NeXuS Gaming Goðar vs thirsty. ScM vs Damage Networks Nexzil vs True North Horizon vs Good Game
Hoping all of these get streamed so I can watch them :P By the way oma, you got the week 4 matchups wrong, last matchup of div 2 group A is Forward! vs YO Clan :P
As week 3 comes to an end (maybe) things are pretty polarized in group B. Unfortunately it seems that 420 is folding and TN is getting a walkover. Not all information is in from W3 but I am going to make some safe assumptions as to the current standings.
TN tied with Nexzil for first both 12-0 (although TN have yet to face either Nexzil or All-in) All-In is in 3rd 8-4 Rev and 156 tied for 4th (0-12?).
Week 4 matches
All-in v Rev Rev are good players but I don't think they are in the same league as All-in. Prediction: 4-0.
TN v Nexzil Nexzil is the favorite in group B but TN is the dark horse. Pretty unlikely that there will be any marine side wins for TN but I am going to go out on a limb and say that we have improved enough to take 1 alien game off Nexzil. Prediction: 1-3
<!--quoteo(post=2045693:date=Dec 14 2012, 01:20 PM:name=swalk)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (swalk @ Dec 14 2012, 01:20 PM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=2045693"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Matches I'm looking most forward to in week 4: Evolve or Die vs Mercury Mint vs The Team The French Connexion vs vetus Be water my friend vs NeXuS Gaming Goðar vs thirsty. EDIT: Thanks for swalk correcting me, it seems i was too drunk to write anything.. should have been quiet.. ANYWAY i've fixed my original post and made some fast predictions for week 4-5.. Nothing really changed but now you have more to read :)
<b>Inversion vs Clan Milk</b> - Inversion is the favorite to win in this group, they have great shooters and great teamplay. I don't how how Clan Milk will go against Inversion. Clan Milk will probably put a good fight, but in the end inversion takes all wins. <u>Prediction: 4-0</u>
<b>Damage Network vs NorCal</b> - Damage network have been improving since their first game against Inversion. However, nc haven't been active lately. <u>Prediction: 3-1</u>
<b>[NE] vs ScM</b> - This might be a good game. NE needs to work on their coordination, because sometimes they just go all in, then when it fails, they lose. ScM might have a better coordination than NE, but will see what happens on this match :D <u>Prediction: 2-2</u>
All these new teams are improving :D
This NA Div1 Group A is more interesting than Group B, imo.

Oops, I was looking at the wrong one then! lol. I'll only give my score prediction for week 4.
NA Div1 Group A Week 4
<b>ClanMilk vs Natural Erection</b> 1-3
<b>ScM vs Damage Networks</b> 2-2 This match might be more interesting. Both teams are very good.
<b>NorCal vs Inversion</b> 0-4 I just don't see inversion losing in this group A, unless Dn` and NE or ScM becomes really good, but they won't face Inversion anymore maybe if they get far enough in the playoffs.
Week 4 and and Week 5 are going to be very interesting in<a href="http://www.ensl.org/contests/121" target="_blank"> Div 3 Group B</a>, as we have three teams fighting closely over the play-off positions. Gra Hunduri are almost sure to come first, but iPlay, Cystits (my team) and karvalakki are all on 8, 7 and 6 points respectively.
iPlay, while in 2nd, have two tough matches coming up against Gra Hunduri and karvalakki. Cystitis needs to pick up lots of points against ALIENFREUNDE.
It's still damn hard to get any idea of how various individuals and teams are playing since the spectating is very much limited to streamers and their top-down view.
Are there any interesting characteristics to keep an eye? Could be a team playing in particular way or just a player or two doing something a little different than others.
At the end of this week, we are 4 teams actually tied for the victory or playoffs. Predictions are really hard on this one, since there were a lot of draw games last weeks. If you want some really close matchs, check it out :

<!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><a href="http://www.ensl.org/contests/current/" target="_blank">ENSL NS2 Season 1 - New year's update; week 4 analysis</a><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec-->
As the year comes to a close, the group stages of the first season are also nearing a crescendo. Unfortunately, since the untimely demise of exertus, group b has become a rather sedate affair, with coolclan and duplex being nearly guaranteed to take the first and second playoff seed respectively. Group a, on the other hand, has become an intensely fought and unpredictable affair. While Archaea have the first seed on lock, the second seed is a free-for-all-no-holds-barred melee between Evolve or Die, Mercury and Saunamen. This battle will be the focus of this post.
Initially it looked like Saunamen would be struggling, only managing a 2-2 against HBZ (kudos to HBZ though). The situation was turned entirely upside down in week three, however, in the last match before the Christmas break, between EoD and Sauna. The intrepid finns managed to take a 3-1 win against the spaniards, leaving Sauna in a very good position before their deciding game against Mercury in week 5, while both Mercury and EoD now both need a big win in their week 4 match against each other. EoD are in the worst spot, needing not only a big win against Mercury, preferably a 4-0, but also needing Mercury to win rounds against Sauna in week 5. Mercury, on the other hand, need at least a 3-1 against EoD to stay even with Sauna before the deciding week 5 match.
<!--coloro:#FF8C00--><span style="color:#FF8C00"><!--/coloro--><!--sizeo:3--><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><b>There are two very important week 4 matches to note, although one has not been scheduled yet</b><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->
<i>Saunamen vs. Rines with Dreams</i> has not been scheduled yet, which means it might be delayed until the catch-up week. Hopefully it will be played a soon as possible though, as the result could have an impact on the final standings. Mercury currently have a slight advantage in points because they won 3-1 against HBZ, while Sauna were only able to manage a 2-2. Mercury also lost a round to RwD, however, meaning that Sauna could even out the points if they can take a 4-0 against RwD. Considering Sauna's rising form, and RwD's already all-but-guaranteed relegation to division 2, a 4-0 should be within Sauna's reach. This would be significant, because not only does it put even more pressure on Mercury for the Mercury-EoD matchup, but it also means that even if Mercury are able to defeat EoD 3-1, a tie against Sauna in week 5 will only put them tied on points with Sauna.
<i>The top match this week, however, is undoubtedly Evolve or Die vs. Mercury</i>. This is currently scheduled for the 4th of january 20:00 CET. Unless Sauna fail against RwD, it will be impossible for EoD to go through to the playoffs without a win here; meaning that this is a make or break situation for the mostly-spanish team. If they are to have much hope of going through to the playoffs though, they will most likely need a 4-0. Mercury, on the other hand, are in a slightly better position. A 3-1 win against EoD will put them at least even with Sauna before the deciding week 5 match, but they still have control over their own destiny even with a 1-3 loss. A 0-4 loss against EoD would make things very difficult for Mercury, however, but they still have a theoretical chance if that should happen. A 4-0 win for Mercury would be huge, however. That would mean that a draw against Saunamen in the week 5 match would be enough for them; in that eventuality Mercury would have one more point than Saunamen, assuming Sauna 4-0 against RwD.
<b>Some points worth mentioning about EoD and Mercury:</b> <ul><li> Mercury have recently strengthened their roster with two former Exertus players; zups and laama.</li><li> EoD have had some roster problems recently, often playing with mercs and even recruiting non-spanish players to their main roster. While dux and danny are excellent players, with top level ns1 experience, there is a communication barrier; with the spanish players talking spanish and the non-spanish players not understanding a word, which is always going to be problematic.</li><li> EoD has a strong commander in jaivol, and at least two top notch players in dugi and alcalde. Especially their marine rounds will be highly dependant on dugi's performance. If jaivol, dugi and alcalde all have a good day, this is going to be a very difficult match for Mercury.</li><li> Mercury has had great teamplay in the past, with a balanced roster with few weaknesses. The addition of zups and laama, two of exertus' strongest players, should have a positive impact on their "personal skill average", but could hurt their teamplay. It is especially important for Mercury to practice heavily before this match, to get their new roster to gel and their teamplay to where it should be.</li><li>Mercury have been practicing heavily against Archaea and high skill mixes during the Christmas break. I don't think EoD have been as active. This could be the difference between a 2-2 and a 3-1 in favor of Mercury.</li></ul> I honestly have no idea what the end result of this will be. Depending on a number of different factors, this could be anything between a 1-3 to a 3-1. I doubt either team will 4-0, but I wouldn't be entirely shocked if that happened either. Regardless of the result, this is going to be a nail biter: Can EoD rise from the ashes, or will Mercury take a big step towards that playoffs spot?
<!--coloro:#FF8C00--><span style="color:#FF8C00"><!--/coloro--><!--sizeo:3--><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><b>In other news</b><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->
Saunamen have recently added Citrus to their roster. The ns1 veterans here will remember him as one of the best ns1 fades and a competent marine. If he is active, he should make Sauna an even more formidable opponent; and help them reach the activity level they need to keep improving as a team in time for the deciding matches.
Also interesting to note, is that there are currently a total of 4 matches scheduled for the 6th of january, two week 4 matches and three week 5 matches. Hopefully the casters will be up to the task, because that day will be huge.

I guess that settles that, then.
Another thing to note, is that with the recent announcement that the finalists might get a sponsored trip to cologne, the playoff spots are even more desireable than they were before.
Kinda sad you gave Mint zero mention at all Fana... Way its going in group B might not be as simple as you think. :)
Mint play The Team to be on equal point with Duplex (need to get 3-1 for equal points). (Mint beat Quaxy 4-0, The Team went 2-2 vs Quaxy) Then Mints final game vs Duplex will be the decider for whether its Duplex or Mint in the Finals... And I think Mint rrreeeeeeaaaaalllly want to be in the Finals... xD
Otherwise, enjoyed another good write up...
*Insert bad joke about having not slept for an entire year/having spent the last year drinking nothing but mojitos and thus needing to go to sleep*

Gonna be interesting to see if RwD will play their last match(es) then. Otherwise if RwD are unable to feild players for the rest of the season, I think it can to equated to folding, hence wiping their points as well. Only difference is RwD arent saying they are folding, just giving their matches away.
Comments
HG will take EoD 3-1.
Suana will take RwD 4-0
This will put HG and Suana tied at 9p.
I just have to put it out there. HBZ on 3rd place in Group A currently. Taking 3 points against RwD, 1 against Mercury and a tie against Saunamen.
Very well played guys. I think HBZ have done and will do a good job in division 1.

(imho the other three teams are the weakest of these six badass teams, so i would think vetus, be my water and nexus will get solid victories from the leftovers)
<u><b>So here are my Week 4 predicts:</b></u>
<u>NexuS Gaming</u> vs. <u>Be Water My Friend</u>
<i>Pretty even teams so if this game is going to be casted, it's a must see for div2 fans.
<u>The French Connexion</u>
<i>This might be an interesting match as we see those frenchies hunger for more scores as they will need all they can get, but from the statistic point of view this should be an walk in a park for Vetus, so four to nothing for vetus and they will carry the finnish flag in pride</i>
<u>Forward</u> vs. <u>YO Clan</u>
Those legendary baconmen from the golden past are back in town, they will have much to prove and if they have practised enough, they will easily take those desperately needed points to home, so 3-1 for legends if suprised by YO clan maybe a draw can be seen.
<u><b>So by accident, i've made week 5 predictions too:</b></u>
<u>Vetus</u> vs. <u>Forward</u>
<i>The groups blacksheep against the one of the favourites. Anyhow you look this match i dont think this will be a much of struggle, so vetus will be taking this easily four to nothing.</i>
<u>French Connexion</u> vs. <u>NexuS Gaming</u>
<i>I don't know a lot about French Connexion but i'm having a hunch that they will be steamrolled by those beasts from spain, nothing will stop them from coming and taking those well earned points. This will be a solid victory for NeXus four to nothing.</i>
<u>Be Water My Friend</u> vs. <u>YO Clan</u>
<i>I wouldn't be suprised for a fast four rounds, the skill difference is just too huge and not enough time to catch up, but hey anything can happen even a baserush might change the tides but honestly it would be a huge suprise if My Water Friends wouldn't take this four to nothing, keep drinking water my brothers so you wont become anything like me!</i>
<i>My english is not perfect but you can't blame me for trying :D</i>
<i>EDIT: accidently wrote the entire prediction by calling be water my friend as a be my water friend :D</i>
<i>EDIT2: It seems that the beer is makign it's way up and thats why i made some week5 predictions too, damn you swalk for correcting me.. :D</i>
Evolve or Die vs Mercury
Mint vs The Team
The French Connexion vs vetus
Be water my friend vs NeXuS Gaming
Goðar vs thirsty.
ScM vs Damage Networks
Nexzil vs True North
Horizon vs Good Game
Hoping all of these get streamed so I can watch them :P
By the way oma, you got the week 4 matchups wrong, last matchup of div 2 group A is Forward! vs YO Clan :P
As week 3 comes to an end (maybe) things are pretty polarized in group B. Unfortunately it seems that 420 is folding and TN is getting a walkover. Not all information is in from W3 but I am going to make some safe assumptions as to the current standings.
TN tied with Nexzil for first both 12-0 (although TN have yet to face either Nexzil or All-in)
All-In is in 3rd 8-4
Rev and 156 tied for 4th (0-12?).
Week 4 matches
All-in v Rev
Rev are good players but I don't think they are in the same league as All-in. Prediction: 4-0.
TN v Nexzil
Nexzil is the favorite in group B but TN is the dark horse. Pretty unlikely that there will be any marine side wins for TN but I am going to go out on a limb and say that we have improved enough to take 1 alien game off Nexzil. Prediction: 1-3
Evolve or Die vs Mercury
Mint vs The Team
The French Connexion vs vetus
Be water my friend vs NeXuS Gaming
Goðar vs thirsty.
ScM vs Damage Networks
Nexzil vs True North
Horizon vs Good Game
Hoping all of these get streamed so I can watch them :P

ScM might have a better coordination than NE, but will see what happens on this match :D
<u>Prediction: 2-2</u>
All these new teams are improving :D
This NA Div1 Group A is more interesting than Group B, imo.

What about week 4? :D
Someone needs to update the ENSL page for NA Div1GroupB if that's the case. TN has 4 points officially :o
156 and 420 forfeit? D:

Oops, I was looking at the wrong one then! lol. I'll only give my score prediction for week 4.
NA Div1 Group A Week 4
<b>ClanMilk vs Natural Erection</b> 1-3
<b>ScM vs Damage Networks</b> 2-2
This match might be more interesting. Both teams are very good.
<b>NorCal vs Inversion</b> 0-4
I just don't see inversion losing in this group A, unless Dn` and NE or ScM becomes really good, but they won't face Inversion anymore maybe if they get far enough in the playoffs.
Gra Hunduri are almost sure to come first, but iPlay, Cystits (my team) and karvalakki are all on 8, 7 and 6 points respectively.
Current scores ahead of Week 4 games:
Team Score Win Loss Draw
Gra Hunduri 12 3 0 0
iPLAY 8 2 0 1
Cystitis 7 1 1 1
[karvalakki] 6 2 1 0
ALIENFREUNDE 2 0 3 0
Hard.DaY! 1 0 3 0
iPlay, while in 2nd, have two tough matches coming up against Gra Hunduri and karvalakki. Cystitis needs to pick up lots of points against ALIENFREUNDE.
It's going to be really close.
Are there any interesting characteristics to keep an eye? Could be a team playing in particular way or just a player or two doing something a little different than others.
Hey people,
At the end of this week, we are 4 teams actually tied for the victory or playoffs. Predictions are really hard on this one, since there were a lot of draw games last weeks.

<b>Some points worth mentioning about EoD and Mercury:</b>
<ul><li> Mercury have recently strengthened their roster with two former Exertus players; zups and laama.</li><li> EoD have had some roster problems recently, often playing with mercs and even recruiting non-spanish players to their main roster. This could be the difference between a 2-2 and a 3-1 in favor of Mercury.</li></ul>
I honestly have no idea what the end result of this will be.
<!--coloro:#FF8C00--><span style="color:#FF8C00"><!--/coloro--><!--sizeo:3--><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo--><b>In other news</b><!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->
Another thing to note, is that with the recent announcement that the finalists might get a sponsored trip to cologne, the playoff spots are even more desireable than they were before.
Way its going in group B might not be as simple as you think. :)
Mint play The Team to be on equal point with Duplex (need to get 3-1 for equal points). (Mint beat Quaxy 4-0, The Team went 2-2 vs Quaxy)
Then Mints final game vs Duplex will be the decider for whether its Duplex or Mint in the Finals...
And I think Mint rrreeeeeeaaaaalllly want to be in the Finals... xD
Otherwise, enjoyed another good write up...
*Insert bad joke about having not slept for an entire year/having spent the last year drinking nothing but mojitos and thus needing to go to sleep*
Should be a good game

Some people weren't commited at all causing constant roster problems, and there's not much out there to pick from, so we have taken this decision. It has been a fun ride.
Cheers.
But this means sauna gets 4 points from RwD, and HG gets 4 points from EoD.
Then HG will be looking for a tie, and Sauna needs to take at least three rounds.
Gonna be a good show :)

Really sad to hear, we Mint guys enjoyed playing you guys! :)
Hopefully all your committed players find new homes! :)
That would be a very strange way to do things. I assume all of EoD's results will be wiped, meaning Mercury and Sauna will be tied on points before their week 5 faceoff.
