Consistency problem in b233

So, suddenly after b233 was released, I can no longer join servers with consistency check enabled. I've tried manually deleting all NS2 related files and folders, including the actual game folder and the appdata folder, and reinstalling the game, and it still gives me consistency errors. I haven't changed any files since reinstalling.

Slightly miffed, since this prevented me from playing our ENSL match today... Any ideas?

Just a guess, but try deleting your workshop folder in %appdata%. Looks like a single file in a mod is failing the consistency check and being unloaded, which is then causing a bunch of your files to fail the check.

looks like an error with the spectator system :/
does it happen on other servers too ?

I've got the same problem and its really frustrating at this stage. Personally I missed out on some low-ranking pcw's with my team today because of this.
I've tried everything from deleting the mods in the folders to reinstalling the entire game, and the same problem occurs every time.

I seriously hope a hotfix is already on its way to deal with this new patch problem.

I dont know about Fana but for me, some servers are ok, and some aren't.
Usually the "modded" servers are the ones that reject me, although I haven't tired every server yet and I dont think it has anything to do with the mods, but I could be wrong in my case >.<

I've also tried shutting off all my mods and turning them back on again, no change.

Are you sure this is not a case that the Server needs to update it's mods?

yes that appears to be the problem here ;)
maybe some files were not updated correctly but that still doesnt explain why only a few people get the bug :/

Well currently some people may fail to download the updated files, not sure if that is the case here and also don't know if that was the case whether it would mount the older files.

The Workshop Download methods are being looked into though.

EDIT: You guys might also be experiencing some weird bugs from the 233 Release Notes?

<!--c1--><div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><!--ec1-->Fixed issue where having non-ASCII characters in the Windows user name would cause the game to not save mods, settings or cache files properly.<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->

As I notice at least in both of the above problems you have non alpha-numeric characters in your profile paths?

I can confirm that this is the case. Changed the name of my user account folder and no consistency errors anymore. The problem is not with consistency, but with loading mods into user account folders with non alpha-numeric characters.

To everyone having this problem: The only way to play on modded servers, at least until uwe fixes this, is the rename your user account folder to something that doesn't include non alpha-numeric characters. So, no special nordic characters like ÆØÅ or ÖÄ, for example. Thanks for reporting this, it is fixed for the next patch. Unfortunately we will not be able to release the patch until next week. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I can confirm that the issue has been fixed due to changing the name from ÆØÅ. How wierd that i used about 5 hours figuering it out, and then it was so simple :)
