<div class="IPBDescription">Spawn with upgrades</div>How about make hypermutation an upgrade that allows all aliens to spawn with upgrades that they can choose when they are dead?
It won't take up an upgrade slot like silence or carapace or adrenaline. Instead it is just a change to spawning mechanics.
It will eliminate the time that players have to take to choose upgrades after hatching, thus speeding up alien rushes and can make it easier for hatching skulks to defend hives.
Perhaps it can be a type of egg that the shift is able to lay. Shifts can now hatch eggs that when players are spawning in them.. will allow players to choose their upgrades prior to hatching.
It would justify 2 eggs costing 5 TRes.

LOL point taken. Just throwing out some ideas though.
Hopefully some of the ideas suggested by people will be adopted or at least give some inspiration for an implemented idea.
But I don't think my idea is that bad.
Aliens could use some linear upgrades along with a revamp or reimagining of the current upgrades. imo.
If it isn't an upgrade I think aliens should at least have the ability to choose their upgrades prior to spawning, maybe take that evolve time and add it onto spawn time?
Although that would probably break the spawning system for aliens even more.
The spawning system needs to be fixed for aliens. Maybe it should scale with the number of marine players.
Then of course there's the issue of players leaving mid-game or something like that.
simply having upgrades be retroactive and allowing lifeforms (or Skulks) to swap upgrades would be the simplest fix without the need to add some interface during death.
it's already been suggested multiple times with pretty much entirely positive feedback.
