... christmas isn't all that christianity based here in Sweden. Many of us couldn't care less about jesus and there aren't really that many religious shows on the telly this time of year. One thing though, and this might really seem odd, but christmas-special dondald duck at 3 pm every year and the same thing every year is one of the things most loved and remembered about christmas here in Sweden(Don't ask me why I haven't got a clue and is just as confused as I imagine you lot is), and I'm not just talking about kids, alot of adults watch it, apparently it's "a tradition".
Im glad I live in a country were religion isn't really pushed on you unless you have really religious parents(I didn't *phew*). The only ever time it's pushed on you a bit is in school. In sweden you have to study all the different major religions in school, though this is quite alot more heavy on christianity it's not all that bad, it's not to indept. We actually had an atheist religion teacher in my class for a year or so which was really fun since I usually got into long disputes with the other teacher I had in religion(don't get mad about this I don't really care what you believe in and don't want to start an argument, but this is what the typical arguments we had where about:To what a degree is religion just a way for evil power mad people to control the "less important" people or does the christian god have multiple personality disorder or did he just have a big change of mind(remember from the old testimony when he led the jews on a genocide march and had these ideas of punishment being inherited by sons and doughters... , I mean I think he was just about as bad as Hitler, then in the new testimony he is well, a very nice fellow that most people would really like), it was nice having a teacher who thought this was just as scilly as I did for a change and hence I didn't miss lunch by sitting a good half hour after class having a nice and civil boring argument with the teacher.)

I know I write compact blocks of text and do tend to make very large parenteces in the middle of one of these blocks it's a compulsion <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> . I celebrate christmas too because I like it, and new years eve and birthdays, oh and just for the fun of it me and a couple of friends celebrated "festivus" instead one year, we even got an aluminum pole(!).
