<div class="IPBDescription">bring them back!</div>Sooo the exos are cool and all, nice touch with the dual mini's. But the marines still feel at a disadvantage. Come on, ITS THE MARINES! Where are our hmg's?! I miss the jetpack/hmg combo man. The onos's are pretty tough.

Speaking of onos's, will they be getting the eatting a marine soldier ability in an update or something? Eh, thats another topic in itself.

But really, we need hmg's. Maybe make the price for guns lower. Idk, but hmg's are important.

HMG was and still is an epic icon of Natural Selection... I really miss it

On the topic of Onos Devour, no that was scrapped because it completely took a player out of the game. Something that should be avoided. Instead we have a heavier Stomp that throws marines onto the floor (which is still somewhat annoying :P)

I hated the HMG/JP combo, even when I was the rine using it, it felt cheap

What if Jetpacker with Machine Gun would not be as agile as common Jetpacker?Maximum fuel ammount or fuel restore lowered to make it an escape option, not an offensive option. Not allowing Machinegunner to buy jetpacks at all would be too severe.

    Balancing...Done!

*Is the OP's picture NS2 machine gun model which did not make into release?Anyway, looks awesome!

I too have found myself wanting to grab my old, reliable HMG.

I don't know, maybe it's the nostalgia talking, but I just kinda want them.

I just feel that there is no upgrade to the LMG, every other weapon has a role of it's own, so you can't just "get a better machine gun", especially early on.

While I certainly would have nothing against a HMG being introduced (balanced properly, of course), maybe what I'm wanting the most is some sort of middleground to the LMG and HMG.

Maybe some sort of Prototype LMG, with a clip of 60-70 (1 less extra mag), slight bonus damage (11-12 base damage) and a slight bonus against buildings. I'd keep buying it for 10 res a piece :)

And the stomp in NS2 throws even jet-packers down, what was very surprising the first time I've been stomped as a jet-packer. 0.o

Oh , thats why last Onos that I was hunting with a jetpack was stomping ground like a madman.

    That's rich.

Give Marines their HMGs back, but who cares about aliens and their Focus, right?

Because as you say, Marines are at such a disadvantage, right?

My first assumption is that you don't know how to play FPS games. Pointing and clicking is a lot easier than dodging waves of bullets, and trying to kill groups of people with a melee attack. Especially when you can be one hit by a shotgun.

I suppose I should ready myself, as I know someone is going to throw the "win %" in my face as an argument.

If anything, we should be talking about the % at which this game is turning into a ghost town.

Maybe there's more argument in that.

the lack of HMG is the main reason why marines in mid game are useless... and yes we need HMG's like we need DIGEST for the onos

We already have enough people crying that the shotgun is OP and can kill a skulk too quickly with far too little skill.

Adding an HMG to the mix would just get everybody's panties in a bunch. Although it's ridiculous that the best non-exo waepon against an onos is still an LMG (unless you count flamethrower for it's energy reducing effects).

What if..... the HMG was only kept in a fixed position and was mountable. Limit 1 per room perhaps.

I have played many games as a Marine and have only won a handful of times over half of which was where I played as a commander. Aliens get it easy when it comes to resources in a late game. Aliens will always have a greater kill to death ratio towards the endgame. Turrets may level the playing field against Onos avalanches.

HMG is in the game. It was given infinite ammo and attached to a giant, armored exoskeleton. It was done that way specifically to make it not broken for jet pack marines to have ridiculous mobility on top of superior firepower.

The HMG is essentially still Iconic in NS2. The Exo is the new Icon.

2 amazing ns1 aspects are missing from this game:

Fast pace marine vs skulk action and fast pace jetpack vs focus fade.

Now onos is counter to both heavy and jetpack, since not only is onos just as fast as jetpack to begin with but now starts off with charge ability.
I'm happy they made it 3 hive onos drop, since fades were absolutely useless before that. Alien com would spend res on onos egg instead of blink and by the time he'd even start unlocking blink you already would have had the res to have onos'd and dominated- now it is a more viable option for commanders to get blink early on. Gj UW.

Oh and my hypothesis as to why the game removed all the glorious fast paced action is that the spark engine in its current state cant handle it. People with above average computers still are having a ###### time aiming so I guess it's good both the jetpack and skulk are just bulky and slow.
