Door Welding?

I've noticed in many maps there are doors, and even as commander you can see the health and armor of them, yet there is nothing to do. I think it would be really cool and wouldn't throw off balance if you could weld doors shut. It would be a good way to slow down the other team from flanking the back of a push. Maybe even the aliens could spit some sort of goo on doors themselves - an equivalent to the marine's weld.

Just an idea. What do you guys think?

In explore mode, when you look at a door, the note says:
"You will be able to weld doors shut in the future."

    Still, a cool idea :)

It will be available in future updates yes.

Didn't make the current release due to development constraints.

As well as bashing doors down as an Onos.

I think it's a good idea, but more like in NS1, we should be able to weld some vents, just some to not disbalance the game and also be able to weld some buildings and structures.

I may have been mistaken, but on several occasions mid-battle I could've sworn I saw the "E" for interation pop up with doors.

And welding shut vents would be silly and sounds like an unhealthy idea - Those vents were built for a reason, besides alien lifeforms, I imagine they also constantly spew forth air for you guys to breathe.

But yeah, welding doors would be awesome. +1 :D

actually its already implemented, but when it was it was /cough 'buggy' /s######. it worked perfectly, just needed refinement and of course, uwe tucked it away and most of us forgot about it.

Door welding is still on the to-do list. I for one can't wait to weld a door shut, hear the pounding of legs and scratching at claws on the other side, to then see an onos rush through, busting the whole thing wide open. In due time...
