Marine Item Drops For 1.04

<div class="IPBDescription">Dropping stuff for specific marines.</div> Say your commander, A friend you know is good with mines and won't lay 5 of them at Jumping height horizontally, You give him mines then some noob runs and steals it and plants 5 in the same spot. For 1.04 could you make a option as commander where you click on a marine, and select a special button and drop whatever and only that marine could pick it up. Like this one time I dropped a welder for someone to fix all our broken stuff and someone blocks my friend from getting it, picks up the welder and runs into combat.

    why not drop it on the marine you want?

    I find this with dropping ammo and hp in battle, marines are trying to doge the aliens, perhaps even retreating/attacking/retreating and you drop some hp/ammo aliens may have over run that area if they retreat fast enough, or are doging about too much. another thing is if a marine is on say, 90%hp and another near by is on 10, you drop the hp, mr 90% goes and grabs it, 10% dies, 10% had a hmg, and you did not want him to die, 90% runs off, leaving the hmg, waste of res i say.

    also another thing that i think would be good would be the marines hp and stats in the middle bit of console, ala star craft style

    I like the whole "have the marine stand still" idea, but if they could put in a feature like this, it should just be somthing simple, like if you have a single marine selected, then click on an item button, the item automatically drops on him. If you want to drop an item the old way, deselect him, or have more than one marine selected.

    and what if you have someone selected to give way points, then try drop a hmg in the base for someone else, but then they cant pick it up

    not really as easy as you say, if u are trying to give hp to a marine being attacked by 1 or 2 sulks or a fade then u are not going to have much luck, the marine will be dead if he stats still

    I dunno, if you could replenish the whole team with med and ammo within 2 sec that would be lame
    Besides, it adds to the atmosphere of the game when you see a medpack spawning 2 meters in front of you, just behind those two skulks heading your way.. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    But i mean with this feature you could ration there supplies and make sure everyone gets the same amount of stuff, Like this option should be disabled for Med packs and you shouldnt be able to automaticlly drop it on them. Say you arent poor with res but arent really rich. set 2 welders, a HMG and HA and a JP for everyone. So that people that lost there stuff cant steal another persons. If you dont get what I mean.. Its like the stuff is on the ground, The marines can pick it up when ever they want, every marine has there own stuff. Marines cant take other marines stuff if they lose it. It would be a good feature because now comms cant keep a track on who gets what and some people end up getting HMG and HA all the time and some people missing out completely.
