From a group of friends who had a great time in NS2 today
Hi, guys!
Being an old NS1 vet, I got our community - StarCraft players and fans of competitive play and eSports in general - interested in NS2 before release, greatly helped by the phenomenal streams and production on the NS2 livestream. Seriously, props to Hugh and Wasabi for providing such a great introduction to the game -- believe me, that stuff helps sales. Subsequently, we've all been playing the game on and off since release whenever time permits, and we've been watching NS2 tournaments with enthusiasm.
Today, five of us got together for a quick game of NS2. What followed was - without hyperbole - one of the most fun gaming experiences I've had in years, so much so that I'm here now ostensibly just to thank you for creating the bloody game. I won't bore you all with the details; thus, in broad strokes: As Aliens, we got off to a good start, then lost map control, then barely held a big attack by the skin of our teeth -- all with good communication, cooperation, and teamwork. We hit targets together, we took resource nodes, we set up good positions, we built up to Onos, and managed to come back to win a very tense game.
It was a game of average players against a pretty bad team, and it was an absolute blast.
I happened to be streaming at the time, which I think was pretty lucky. I was the one running the comms this game, calling out orders and squad tactics so that our commander could focus on the big picture. My viewers got a pretty good idea of how the game works, and a couple of them became interested in picking it up. Hopefully that pays you guys back for all the fun we had tonight. =)
Cheers,
Cane

I mean, "Thanks for all the fun," is pretty close right? I mean... I'm not going crazy am I? Like... It's normal to memorize arbitrary lines from movies, right? Right?!
All I can think of is the poker face + American psycho meme.
