Why is it that the lobby where i find all the servers stops working after i failed to join a server one or two times with their queue system? Press refresh or fail to join one time too many and you won't find any servers until you have waited some time.

Infact the best way to join a server in this game is through another friend in the steam interface.

Sometimes (such as now) i just give up on playing NS2 and play something else simply because i can't join a server.
I know part of the problem is that people have better GPU's than me (i have a 285), and because of that they always get in before me when we are both in queue for the same server.

I also can't see the forum section where this will probably be moved to.

Besides that, i love playing the game (especially alien).

edit: changed topic title to be more informative.

Appears to be an issue with certain routers and their flood protection, lowering the poll rate for server browsers seems to have partially resolved the issue for some.

From what I've heard, there's a number of 'fixes' that you, the guy that bought the game under the impression that it will work, will have to go and do yourself so that you can play the game that you bought.

    Funny how that works.

Yes merlin, thats correct some routers have flood protection at varying levels and this can create problems in a game that doesnt restrict server queries based on a small percentage with this restriction.
This issue was never present or reported in the two years of alpha and beta testing..
The next patch will be addressing this issue.

but for now you'll have to fix it for yourself, an easy task to accomplish ~ 4 clicks.
Steam cloud settings > server browse refresh rate > pick a small number

I was about to create a post about this happening.

Was going to say if start the game and it gets the server list, I'm fine, but if i refresh more than once, my router stops responding and I have to reboot it, or do a windows troubleshooting.

I'm also getting horrid lag spikes Ive never gotten in beta, even on the same servers I used to play on. My ping will jump to like 300, and my screen will freeze, then go back to normal again.

I assume the game flooding the router, and the lag spikes are getting fixed in 229 as you say. Looking forward to it!!

Easy task to accomplish. Four clicks. 5 if you count the hit play button.

Sever list never loads. At all. The fix killed the game completely.
