<div class="IPBDescription">Computer literate plz look here</div> Note: I don't currently have money for all these parts, but I'm hoping that my lottery investments will soon pay off, so bear with me. I'm asking if you think this will be able to handle many consecutive games of Natural Selection or whatever. Please post your reactions.

    HELL YEAH

A 2.8 Ghz machine with 512 mb ram could *easily* handle a 20+ person server, you might want to get more ram if you need more people.

P.S. The Motherboard link didn't work

P.S.S. You also need a harddrive, I recomend for maximum performance that you get a Seagate 15,000 RPM "Cheatha".

A wicked disk+controller is a waste of money for a HL mod server. The disk is only touched at server/level load. Buy a 7200 RPM IDE drive and save some green.

you did not mention your upstream... DSL, Cable, T1, etc... having great hardware is important, but so is your connection. also, have you considered your choice of OS?
