Problems with ingame Voice

Hello there im new to the game but i got a problem.
For some reason my voice in game sounds like im a robot.
This hasnt happened to me before in any other games i know of and as soon as i leave NS2 its fine again.
I havnt found many settings in the way of the in game voice system so anyone got any ideas ?
Its a buildt in mic port to motherboard and as far as i can tell the drivers are upto date.
As stated this is the only game i have the problem in.
