Gunfire penetrating walls/vent bug

Yesterday I was harassing with a lerk in the vents and I observed exosuit gunfire penetrating the wall and bottom of the vent.
This is a first person view of what I saw looking out the vent (the red line is exosuit gunfire coming from below) :

Surely this isn't intended and must be a bug.

    Marines can also shoot skulks sticking through thin walls with their legs (like glass). Although it was somehow predictable, I was a bit surprised to be shot down after chuckling and taunting the enemy.

    Hmmm, I wish Marines could get weapons that penetrate walls.

    I'm sort of surprised it isn't in the game already.

    Also the ops issue could be a combination of the Minigun tracers clipping through the vent edge and the AoE damage that the Minigun does.
