I remember the good old days of downloading a ZIP file and then unzipping it into the wrong dir.
I'm happy that you need 2 mouse click and a 1sec-restart game to load a new mod
Basically, NS2 has no mod support as far as most users are concerned. I've never even seen the Flayra Spinner loader, after having it enabled for days.
EDIT: The only mod I've managed to use is the server browser one, since that is unaffected by consistency checks.
I don't see why the Flayra Spinner would involve any code changes, so something must be wrong on my end to prevent that from working... Perhaps a re-install is in order.

Indeed it does leave obvious gaps and that spinner is just a simple modified *.dds file so it should work... Unless the server you play on have modified their consistency check to include those files...
you should not only install them, you should tell the game to actually USE them in your mod menu.
-Subscribe to the mod you want
-Start up the game (which will download the mods you're subscribed to and also keep them up to date)
-Activate/deactivate the ones you want to use, using the ingame "Mods" menu
That makes me feel dumb.
Had no idea they had to be activated in-game. If it still doesn't work, ill let y'all know, otherwise assume I'm oblivious to the obvious.

Hehe, well you aren't dumb, just ignorant to something that isn't clear at all in the first place. I blame the Workshop, like I said it is seriously lacking in basic information and usability (just a big list of stuff instead of neatly organized :( )
