My thoughts after playing the game

I love the game. Worth every penny. That being said, I have a few thoughts:

1. Auto Team Balance: (I am assuming this is the way the game was created and not the server hosts preference) - I don't like the way it works. My understanding, at least on all the servers I have played on, is that auto team balance is on a volunteer only basis. The message says it is turned on, and then you are told "you can re-spawn quicker by joining the other team". I think it should be a forced-balance. Randomly pick a player from the stacked team and force them to switch sides.

Or at least let the server admins set it up that way if they don't have the option to. Volunteer only auto team balance never works - nobody wants to leave the winning side.

2. Ventilation shafts - I don't know if this was intended, but marines can enter the shafts (with jetpacks or by jumping on things). IMO, the game would seem more balanced if the marines could not use shafts. But I'll defer to the developers judgement.

3. Onos get stuck a lot. Or maybe it's just the way I play. Especially when there is an extractor built in a "cubby" or area of the map set back with walls on all sides. I always seem to get my onos stuck between the building and the wall. Perhaps let him jump higher (but not do additional dmg) would be a good fix.

4. Ok, I really, really want this one, but it may be a big technical hurdle. When walking on the ceiling, I want my skulk to see in real first person view. I mean, the skulk is on the ceiling upside down right? So I want the image on my computer screen to be flipped upside down. This would give a more realistic touch IMO. It doesn't have to be required, it can be a video option or something. I know it can be explained away by "oh, well the skulk actually turns its head 180 degrees", but I'd rather look at it upside down. Just saying.

Thanks for the game, Devs.

The vent thing also bothered me for a while, until I found out that most marines simply don't bother because: A) It can be difficult getting into a vent, especially one's that require jetpacks. B) It's a horrible idea.

In regards to number 4, I think that is frankly a terrible idea. Aliens versus Predators was incredibly disorienting, and that particular feature was one that received far too many complaints.

The Auto-balance system is the best I have come across in any game.

When activated it stops the last person to die from spawning, and every consecutive player until teams are even. When another player dies you spawn, and the guy that died has to wait in queue until another player dies.

This evens the teams and does not force players to change sides.

Yah the auto balance teams is perfect as is.... forced balance systems realllllllllly suck when you devoted 30 mins to winning on alien, then someone quits so you get booted to the side you worked so hard to cripple. Keep it as is in my opinion :)

being FORCED to switch teams is ###### horrible, why do you want that? I hate playing with friends and getting switched, that reason ALONE is why i don't play chivalry anymore

A better way of explaining the autobalance: it stops people from spawning on the overpopulated team so that that team has the same number of players alive as the underpopulated team.

Skulk view flip: Devs tried it, just does't work for a game like NS. Even AvP 2's implementation wouldn't have been good enough. It's very difficult and time-consuming to implement (and involves heavy updates to maps to put direction-hint surfaces everywhere) for a feature that virtually nobody would find actually useful. In other words, it'd be a cool gimmick that would require tons of dev effort for little benefit.

For onos getting stuck: try crouch-jumping more. It doesn't solve the issue, but it helps.

I like this system. I was unaware that this was how it worked. Thanks.
